Residence “Professor’s nest” – Verona Apartments Overview

First Impressions

Walking down Vicolo Cieco Dietro San Francesco, you’d almost miss Residence “Professor’s nest” – Verona Apartments if you weren’t looking for it. The narrow cobblestone street feels like stepping back in time, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes this place special. This four-star property sits in what locals know is one of the best neighborhoods in Verona — tucked away from the tourist crowds but close enough that you can hear the evening buzz from the piazzas nearby.

The Neighborhood Secret

Here’s what guidebooks won’t tell you: this area behind San Francesco is where Veronese actually hang out. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Juliet’s House, but you won’t have tour groups marching past your window at dawn. The location score of 9.2 makes perfect sense once you realize you can walk to the Arena di Verona in about ten minutes, yet retreat to this quiet corner whenever the city gets overwhelming. Couples especially seem to get this — they’ve rated the location 9.4, and I can see why.

Your Space

The apartment setup here is what really sets it apart from typical hotel stays. Each unit feels like borrowing a friend’s place rather than checking into generic accommodations. The kitchen isn’t just for show either — there’s actual counter space and proper equipment, which comes in handy when you discover the morning markets nearby. Your room maintains that residential feel while still giving you hotel-level cleanliness and comfort. It’s that sweet spot between independence and service that’s honestly hard to find.

Morning Fuel

The breakfast situation here actually impressed me more than I expected. They’ve got the Italian classics covered, obviously, but the range goes well beyond that — continental options, American-style choices, and they’re serious about accommodating dietary restrictions. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free — it’s all there without feeling like an afterthought. You know what I appreciated most? They understand that not everyone wants the same thing every morning, so there’s enough variety to keep a week-long stay interesting.

Why Guests Love It

The 8.7 rating reflects something you feel immediately — this place gets the balance right. You’re staying in authentic Verona, not some sanitized tourist bubble, but you’re not roughing it either. The staff seems to understand that travelers want local insights without having to work for them, and the parking situation (always a nightmare in Italian city centers) is actually manageable here. What really sells it for me is how the property manages to feel both historic and functional — you get those beautiful old building details without dealing with temperamental plumbing or sketchy WiFi. It’s the kind of place where you start planning your return visit before you’ve even checked out.

Verona hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in this UNESCO World Heritage city, known for its romantic atmosphere, Roman architecture, and world-class opera performances.

I had an amazing stay at Professor’s Nest – Verona Apartments! From the moment I arrived, it truly felt like a home away from home. The apartment was beautifully designed, warm, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged to ensure a relaxing stay.

One of the highlights was the fully equipped kitchen, which had everything I needed to prepare meals with ease. Whether it was a quick breakfast or a cozy dinner, it was a pleasure to cook in such a well-stocked space.

The apartment was spotless, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the atmosphere was peaceful—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring Verona. The location was also ideal, offering both tranquility and easy access to the city’s main attractions.

I stayed for five nights, and I truly felt at home the entire time. I will definitely return!

What could be improved: Everything was perfect.

Just a suggestion: it would be great to have some basics to cook like salt, pepper, olive oil.

  • Eirini from Greece – 20 October 2024 (8/10)

Excellent position, convenient next to the library and the university. Very close to the center. Many cafes around but still not noisy. Good facilities.

What could be improved: Cleaning. Recommended for next guests if the stuff cannot come often to leave extra toilet paper, garbage bags, soaps and maybe a cleaning mopp in the room for use.
The internet needs signalinhancer! I used more the library instead for my work.
