The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know Rome at all. You’re right in the thick of things without being stuck in the absolute tourist chaos – I mean, you can walk to the major sites easily enough, but you’re also on a street where actual Romans go about their daily business. The morning sounds are fantastic too: not just tour groups shuffling by, but the gentle clatter of espresso cups from the café downstairs and locals heading to work. I loved stepping out in the early morning when the light hits the cobblestones just right and you can almost pretend you live there.

What really sets this place apart is the attention to those small details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The rooms feel more like little apartments than hotel rooms – not huge by any means, but thoughtfully arranged so everything has its place. The bathrooms are surprisingly well-designed (and trust me, I’ve stayed in plenty of Roman places where the shower is basically an afterthought). The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up thinking about them, which is honestly my test for whether a place gets the basics right. And the staff? They strike that perfect balance between being helpful and not hovering – they’ll give you great local recommendations if you ask, but they’re not constantly trying to sell you tour packages or restaurant reservations. The whole operation just feels refreshingly straightforward, with an 8.3 rating that makes perfect sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Rome, but it nails what it sets out to do: giving you a genuine taste of living in the city rather than just visiting it.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Verona at least two months ahead for major events like opera performances and wine festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular romantic sites.

  Perfect apartment for our short stay in Verona. Easy to walk into the old town from here but away from the business which was our preference.
