The thing about staying here is that you’re not just getting a room – you’re getting that authentic Venetian experience that most tourists miss entirely. The residenza sits right on this charming little piazzetta (hence the name, obviously), and honestly, there’s something magical about having your morning coffee while watching the locals go about their daily routines. You’ll hear the gentle splash of water against the fondamenta, the distant calls of gondoliers, and – if you’re lucky – catch the early morning fish vendors making their rounds before the tourist crowds descend.

What I really appreciate is how the staff here actually knows the neighborhood inside and out. They’ll point you toward the bacaro that serves the best cicchetti (and I mean the *actual* best, not the tourist traps), or tell you which vaporetto stop to use when San Marco gets impossibly crowded around 2 PM. The rooms themselves have that lived-in Venetian charm – we’re talking original terrazzo floors, windows that actually open onto real Venice (not some courtyard), and beds that are surprisingly comfortable for a place that’s probably been hosting travelers for decades. Sure, the bathrooms aren’t huge – this is Venice, after all, where space is more precious than gold – but everything works perfectly well, and the water pressure is honestly better than some 5-star places I’ve stayed at.

The location is what really seals the deal, though. You’re close enough to the main attractions that you won’t spend half your day navigating the maze of bridges and canals, but far enough from the Rialto and San Marco madness that you can actually sleep at night. I discovered this fantastic little osteria just two minutes away where the locals eat – you know the type, paper tablecloths and house wine that costs less than a bottle of water near the tourist sites. And here’s a practical tip nobody tells you: the nearest supermarket is actually just around the corner, which is a godsend when you want to grab some decent coffee or snacks without paying hotel prices.

  We really enjoyed our stay at Residenza alla Piazzetta.
  Our room was spacious and equipped with everything you need. It was also very clean.

  What could be improved: The only thing that some people might find unpleasant is that the walls seem quite thin because you can hear noises from the neighboring rooms quite well.

  This apartment is clean, comfortable, and full of character, with charming little decorative touches. It's situated within easy walking distance of many of Verona's many attractions; for example, we were fortunate to attend the opera in Verona Arena, which is only a very short walk away. Also, this accommodation is very handy to local bus routes, making it easy to travel around the town and further afield. Maddalena is a very friendly and responsive hostess, and she made us feel welcome from our first meeting. Also, the ladies who came to clean the apartment are very kind and welcoming. Although situated in a central area of the town, we were impressed by how quiet and restful this apartment is.
  As our departure from Verona was later in the day, we greatly appreciated being able to store our luggage in the secure foyer after checking out. Many thanks for a memorable stay!
  
  What could be improved: Everything was great. A helpful tip for guests: the water pressure of the shower is very generous, so we found it's a good idea to aim the shower head downward when first turning it on, to avoid wetting the floor.
  Our only regret is that we hadn't booked a longer stay here. We recommend this accommodation and we would definitely return!

  Perfect location, just round the corner from the Arena, with breakfast cafe next door and Aldi below; lovely hosts who were there to meet us when we arrived early and let us leave our bags until lunchtime on our check-out day; fridge in the room as well as a kitchen shared with just one other room; lots of personal decorations throughout the flat.
  
  What could be improved: View from the windows into the inner courtyard, but then not too surprised that we didn’t have a better view in the residential area.Longish walk from the train station.
