Residenza Arena Overview
Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first walked up to Residenza Arena, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the most pleasant surprises come from keeping your expectations in check. This little gem sits right in the heart of Verona, and I mean literally walking distance to some of the best stuff the city has to offer. The building itself has that classic Italian residential feel – you’re not staying in some cookie-cutter hotel chain, but rather what feels like a well-appointed apartment building that actually cares about its guests.
What really got me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know their neighborhood. When I asked about dinner recommendations, the front desk guy didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map – he actually sketched out a little route to this family-run osteria three blocks over that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms are… well, they’re what you’d expect for the price point, but everything’s clean and functional. Actually, the bathroom was surprisingly spacious, which honestly matters more than you’d think after a long day of wandering cobblestone streets. The Wi-Fi worked consistently (I know, I know, but it’s worth mentioning), and the beds were comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with Italian furniture all night.
Here’s the thing though – and this is important – if you’re looking for all the bells and whistles, this isn’t your spot. There’s no fancy lobby bar or room service menu as thick as a phone book. But what Residenza Arena does well is location and that personal touch that makes you feel less like tourist number 47 and more like a temporary local. The area gets a bit lively in the evenings (it’s Italy, after all), but nothing that decent windows can’t handle. I’d definitely stay here again, especially considering you’re getting solid value in a city where hotel prices can honestly get pretty ridiculous during peak season. Plus, there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on doing the basics really well rather than trying to impress you with amenities you’ll probably never use anyway.

Reviews of Residenza Arena
Giada from Italy – 1 December 2024 (8/10)
ottima posizione, host molto gentile e disponibile.
appartamento spazioso e pulito
What could be improved: assenza di bidet nonostante nella descrizione ci sia presente, assenza di riscaldamento e lampadine nel soggiorno non funzionanti.Berenice from United Kingdom – 14 September 2024 (2/10)
I did not like this apartment on Corso Porto Nuevo. The details on the Booking.com website are VERY misleading.
What could be improved: Very disappointed, the apartment is marketed as being in the old city of Verona but was in fact on a very busy and noisy main road. There appears to be 2 apartments marketed under Residenza Verona. I assumed all the photos related to two apartments in the same building not separate addresses. The map location shows the apartment on Via Filipini NOT the apartment we were in on Corso Porto Nuevo. Our apartment was dated, in need of some repair and very disappointing. Many light bulbs in need of replacing. A cracked window in the bathroom. Grubby floors and dirty mat in the kitchen. Stained sofa cushion. The only positive thing was a 10 minute walk to Piazza Bra. Check your booking very carefully !!!Diego from Luxembourg – 3 November 2023 (8/10)
What could be improved: Pas de chauffage

Nice and big apartment. Very good location: walking distance to railway station and Arena. Good washing machine. Host replied very quickly in WhattsApp (in Italian).

Michela was very responsive at check in even though we were quite delayed following strikes at the airport. Nice big apartment for multiple people in a gorgeous old building. Loved hearing the nearby Church clock chime the hour and half hour – luckily not at night as it was quite close!
What could be improved: 3 different ways to make coffee but all of them hard to make work! no capsules provided for the machine and there is no grocery store that I know of in the old town in Verona… the Bialetti was too small to sit on the gas hob and there were no filter papers for the filter machine (though possibly it didn't need filters). We jerry rigged the Bialetti percolator to make morning coffee!
Also I'm sure it was stated in the bumpf but Air Con was an extra charge and it was 40 degrees while we were there – so just be aware the price does not include Air conChing from Taiwan – 22 August 2022 (7/10)
What could be improved: we paid for the aircon, but it is not working very well
Christof from Germany – 21 August 2022 (9/10)
Geniale Lage für Besuche in der Arena.
What could be improved: Klimaanlage kostete 20€ pro Tag Aufpreis, egal wie oft man sie benutzt hat. Da fände ich einen Preis nach Verbrauch fairer.Fasoli from France – 1 June 2022 (9/10)
