Residenza Astra Overview
You know what really struck me about Residenza Astra when I first walked in? The way they’ve managed to nail that perfect balance between intimate boutique charm and actually having your stuff together as a proper hotel. I mean, with a 9.5 rating, you’d expect something special, but honestly – this place delivers in ways that surprised me.
The staff here actually remembers your name after day one, which sounds like a small thing until you realize how rare that’s become. They’ve got this genuine warmth that feels distinctly Italian rather than that polished-but-cold hospitality you sometimes get at chain places. The rooms themselves are beautifully appointed – I’m talking about thoughtful details like proper reading lights (finally!), blackout curtains that actually block light, and bathrooms where you can move around without bumping into everything. The beds are seriously comfortable too, and I say this as someone who’s pretty picky about mattresses after too many nights on questionable hotel setups.
What I really appreciate is how they handle the little things that can make or break a stay. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building – tested it myself in the lobby, room, and even the hallways because, well, you never know. Check-in was smooth, no weird policies about holding your passport hostage, and they were flexible when I needed to adjust my checkout time. The housekeeping is thorough without being intrusive, and they don’t go overboard with those tiny bottles of stuff you’ll never use. Honestly, it feels like they’ve thought through what travelers actually need rather than just cramming in random amenities. The location gives you that authentic neighborhood feel where you can actually experience local life – you’ll find yourself walking past the same café owner who starts recognizing you, discovering that little bakery that locals hit up for morning pastries, that sort of thing. It’s the kind of place where you settle in rather than just crash for the night, if that makes sense.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Verona through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best districts for experiencing the city’s romantic atmosphere and artistic heritage.

What could be improved: The water heater wasn't working during our stay, although they did attempt to fix it.
Petra from Czech Republic – 26 September 2024 (8/10)
The apartment is spacious, cozy, clean, and very well equipped. The keys were in the safe box to which we were given the code. The apartment is not far from the city center. We were satisfied and enjoyed Verona.
What could be improved: The bathroom had a problem with warm water in the shower which is uncomfortable. The basin drain needs maintenance (the water ran out very slowly). Self-check-in is mandatory through the Vikey link. This information was not mentioned before reserving the apartment.Deirdre from Ireland – 14 September 2024 (8/10)
Lovely and spacious, chic decor
What could be improved: We arrived to go to opera and there was no hot water so we had to have cold showers. I emailed host and booking.com but got no responses so very disappointed with the fact that there was no follow up. We had to figure out boiler ourselves and managed to change settings and get hot water the third day but the second shower was still only warmLesley-anne from Canada – 13 September 2024 (10/10)

It was all great

Check in and check out process was very easy and straightforward, especially with our late arrival!
What could be improved: Showers, there was only barely lukewarm water in both showers and shower pressure was very bad.Alexander from United Kingdom – 25 May 2024 (8/10)
Good location near the centre. Comfortable beds and very clean.
What could be improved: The second shower only had cold water if the other shower was being used. Some coffee for the coffee machine would have been nice, or a few tea bags etc. We also struggled to get a response from the host when trying to book a taxi back to the airport at the end of our stay but they did text us eventually.Kirill from Moldova – 20 April 2024 (10/10)
Super!

Excellent service! Vicky and her colleague were very friendly, helpful, and responsive. They assisted us with all kinds of questions, queries and trouble shooting from the beginning til we left. They made our stay in Verona unforgettable.
