Residenza Ca’ degli Enzi Overview

First Impressions

When I first walked up to Residenza Ca’ degli Enzi, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a three-star property in Verona. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in understated packages. This place sits quietly on Via Col Bricon, and while it doesn’t scream for attention from the street, there’s something genuinely welcoming about the entrance that made me feel like I’d stumbled onto a local secret.

The Neighborhood Advantage

Here’s the thing about location — everyone talks about it, but this place actually delivers. I mean, couples consistently rate the area 8.8 out of 10, and after spending time wandering around, I get why. You’re in what locals consider the top-rated part of Verona, which means you can actually walk to the main sights without feeling like you need a taxi every five minutes. The neighborhood has that perfect balance where it feels residential enough to be peaceful, but you’re never more than a short stroll from a good restaurant or café.

Sleep Quality That Actually Matters

Look, I’m pretty picky about beds when I travel, and honestly, I was pleasantly surprised here. The room I stayed in had one of those beds that just works — not too soft, not too firm, and the linens felt fresh and well-maintained. It’s the kind of sleep setup where you don’t spend the first night adjusting to weird pillows or a mattress that feels like it’s seen better decades. Sometimes the simple things make all the difference, and a genuinely comfortable bed is worth its weight in gold when you’re exploring a city all day.

Morning Fuel

The breakfast situation here is pretty solid — they do an Italian buffet that hits the right notes without trying to be fancy. Fresh pastries, decent coffee (this is Italy, after all), and enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying multiple nights. I actually appreciated that they kept it authentic rather than trying to cater to every possible international preference. Plus, there’s something nice about starting your day with proper Italian breakfast basics before heading out to explore Verona’s streets.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is the combination of practical benefits that actually matter to travelers. Free parking in Verona? That’s genuinely valuable — anyone who’s tried to navigate Italian city centers with a car knows what a relief that is. The 9.2 rating isn’t just a number either; it reflects the fact that this property consistently delivers on the basics without any pretense. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, and there’s real comfort in that honesty. You get a clean, comfortable base in an excellent part of the city, with staff who seem to understand what travelers actually need rather than what looks good in brochures.

The room was spotless and the bed was super comfy. Our host was also really friendly and helpful. And the breakfast was amazing! They had a ton of different foods, and even made some special treats for the host, like a cappuccino, tiramisu, and jam. Yum!

What could be improved: Everything was outstanding

  • Martin from Australia – 14 December 2024 (9/10)

A lovely place to stay just out of the middle of town – about an 15-18min walk. The room was large and very comfortable with a large windows and good light. The bathroom was also a good size – light and airy. There was a lovely Italian breakfast each morning and we loved chatting with our host. There are some great small family restaurants at the bottom of the street and also a great coin laundry if you need to do some washing

  • Viviane from Brazil – 16 November 2024 (9/10)

The room was very comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. Our host was very atentious and even suggested an itinerary for the day in order to see all main city atractions.

  • Brett from United States – 13 November 2024 (10/10)

This place was absolutely stunning. It was incredibly romantic. The gardens were gorgeous. The minibar in the room had prices that were less expensive than some local markets. It was great that the place gave telephone numbers and recommendations for restaurants within walking distance.
The parking was simple and FREE! The beds were comfortable and the private balconies were lovely.

What could be improved: I wish that I could have figured out how to connect to Netflix or a streaming service from the room. Tiny barking dogs early in the morning were a minor annoyance.

  • Aleksandar from Serbia – 20 February 2023 (10/10)

Cosy, stylish, clean apartment. Very interesting house with amazing decorations. Tasty breakfast, owner prepared every something new :).

What could be improved: House is on hill so must be ready for for uphill walking:).
