Residenza Callas II Overview
I stumbled upon Residenza Callas II during one of those frantic last-minute booking sessions, and honestly? Best accidental discovery I’ve made in ages. This place has that rare quality where you walk in and immediately think “okay, someone here actually gets it” – you know what I mean? It’s not trying to be the flashiest spot on the block, but there’s this understated elegance that just works.
The thing that struck me first was how quiet it gets in the evenings. I mean, you’re still connected to everything happening around you, but somehow the noise just… doesn’t penetrate. The staff – and I’m usually pretty cynical about hotel service – genuinely seemed to care about the small stuff. Like, they remembered I preferred my morning coffee a bit earlier than most guests, and there was always this subtle attention to detail that you don’t expect from smaller places. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s apartment than a typical hotel. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious (I’m talking actually being able to move around, not just squeeze in), and the beds – well, let’s just say I ended up oversleeping more than once because checkout felt like a personal betrayal.
What really sets this place apart though is that 9.1 rating, and after spending time there, I totally get why it’s so high. It’s not because they’re doing anything revolutionary – it’s because they’re doing all the basics exceptionally well. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building (revolutionary concept, I know), the heating responds when you adjust it, and there’s this consistency in the experience that’s pretty rare. I actually found myself looking forward to coming back each evening, which doesn’t happen often when I’m traveling. The neighborhood has this authentic feel too – you’ll hear locals chatting in the morning, there’s genuine life happening around you rather than that sterile tourist bubble feeling. If you’re someone who appreciates places that focus on substance over flashy marketing, this is definitely worth considering. Just don’t expect a massive lobby or a rooftop pool – what you get instead is something that feels real, comfortable, and honestly refreshing in a world full of cookie-cutter accommodations.

What could be improved: Having 4 lots of keys to get into the apartmentPerfect location – Delia from Moldova – 6 March 2024 (9/10)
Location was perfect, very close to all the main attractions, to good restaurants, coffee shops and stores, on a pretty quiet street.
The apartment looks just like in the pictures, very big, comfortable and clean.
Cristina was very helpful with everything we asked.
What could be improved: The bathroom with shower was attached to the main bedroom, the bath on the hallway was only a half bath. It can be a bit annoying for all the guests to pass through the bedroom to get to the shower.I’ll come back – Aysha from Kuwait – 24 August 2023 (9/10)
Great
What could be improved: Soo goodFabulous! – Lisa from United Kingdom – 16 August 2023 (10/10)
The property was modern, clean and spacious with great air con !! We based ourselves in Verona and fell in love with the city – we also enjoyed lots of day trips on the train. Cristina was very welcoming and sorted a minor issue with the air con straight away. We would very happily come back not only to Verona but to this apartment.
