Residenza…Cara Giulietta… Overview
First Impressions
Walking down Vicolo Crocioni, you’d almost miss Residenza…Cara Giulietta… if you weren’t looking for it — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This four-star boutique property sits tucked away on one of Verona’s most atmospheric medieval streets, just steps from Juliet’s House. The entrance feels intimate and residential, which makes sense given the name translates to “Dear Juliet Residence.” You know what struck me most? The way they’ve preserved that authentic Italian palazzo feel while making everything feel completely modern and comfortable.
Location & Neighborhood
I mean, you really can’t get more central than this — we’re talking about the Città Antica, the actual historic heart of Verona. From your room, you’re literally a two-minute walk to Casa di Giulietta, and Piazza delle Erbe (the main square with all the cafes and market stalls) is maybe three minutes in the other direction. What couples seem to love most is how you can slip out for an evening passeggiata and stumble upon hidden wine bars and trattorias that tourists staying outside the old town never find. The narrow cobblestone streets can be a bit tricky with luggage, but honestly, once you’re settled in, you’ll forget all about that.
The Accommodation Experience
Each apartment here feels like staying in a carefully curated Italian home rather than a typical hotel room. The spaces blend historical details — think exposed beams and original stonework — with contemporary touches that actually work. The kitchenette setup is particularly smart; it’s compact but well-designed enough that you can prepare simple meals with ingredients from the morning market in Piazza delle Erbe. I appreciated how they’ve managed to fit modern amenities into these historic spaces without making everything feel cramped or awkward.
Practical Considerations
Now, staying in the old town does come with some trade-offs you should know about. Parking isn’t on-site (well, there’s nowhere to put cars on these medieval streets), but they’ll direct you to nearby options that aren’t too much of a hassle. The building doesn’t have an elevator, which is pretty standard for these historic properties, so keep that in mind if you’re traveling with heavy bags. What makes up for any minor inconveniences is the level of personal attention — this isn’t a big hotel chain, so the staff actually remembers your name and preferences.
Why Guests Love It
That perfect 10 rating for location isn’t just marketing speak — it’s because you’re staying where Veronese locals actually live and work, not in some tourist bubble outside the city walls. Couples especially seem drawn to the romantic atmosphere of having your own little Italian hideaway right in the heart of Shakespeare’s Verona. You can grab fresh pastries for breakfast and eat them while watching the morning light hit the ancient buildings from your window, then spend your evening discovering family-run restaurants that have been serving the same recipes for generations. It’s that authentic Italian experience that’s getting harder to find in popular destinations like this.
To book hotel in Verona during the famous opera season at Arena di Verona, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts romance seekers and culture enthusiasts from around the world.

What could be improved: O que poderia ter café da manhã. Mas como a localização era perfeita tomamos café na padaria era próximo.Rudolf from Czech Republic – 2 July 2024 (9/10)
Here is the deal—the apartment is in a perfect location in the center of Verona. It's cozy and spacious enough for a young couple. The funny thing is that from the terrace, you can see Juliet's house, with the famous balcony. The owner, Simonetta, despite speaking only Italian (Google Translate does the job), is very kind, provides you with all the necessary information, and is on call if you need anything. Overall, it was a nice experience, and I can only recommend it if you want to spend a couple of days in beautiful Verona.
What could be improved: Nothing.Nada from Saudi Arabia – 24 June 2024 (10/10)
I had the best stay here!! the room is very spacious, clean, and always smelled incredible, it is also wonderfully located at the heart of the city within walking distance from all main attractions, and it overlooks Juliet’s Balcony which is a plus.
Simonetta was truly the best host one could ask for, she was incredibly warm and kind and made me feel very welcomed, she was also very responsive and incredibly open to any questions I had about Verona or traveling around Italy. Her attention to the room’s details was incredible too, and even put up a dress and flower crown for me to try on and take pictures with the balcony, definitely made my stay extra special!
It was the best place I stayed in Italy, and will surely book here again if I’m ever back in Verona!

Very friendly staff, very beautiful accommodation overlooking the Juliet balcony. The staff waited for our arrival until very late at night. The place is in the very centre of Venice.
What could be improved: A little complicated to find the entrance door to the resort.Sung from South Korea – 4 August 2023 (10/10)
The room was close to the old city and arena. We could even see casa di Giulietta from the room. The room was very clean, with 2 air conditioners and free wifi.
