Residenza Cipressi e Olivi Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Residenza Cipressi e Olivi, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a three-star property — but this place immediately proved me wrong. The villa sits beautifully on Viale dei Colli, one of Verona’s most coveted hillside streets, and you can tell right away that location matters here. The cypress and olive trees that give the residenza its name frame the entrance perfectly, and there’s something genuinely peaceful about the setting that makes you forget you’re still within the city limits.
The Hillside Location
You know what really sets this place apart? It’s perched up in Verona’s Colli area, which means you get those sweeping views over the city without the tourist crowds that swarm the centro storico. I mean, you’re still only about a 15-minute drive from Juliet’s balcony and the Arena, but up here it feels like a completely different world. The couples I’ve seen staying here absolutely get it — there’s something romantic about being tucked away in the hills while still having easy access to everything. Plus, that free private parking is actually a huge deal in Verona, where finding a spot near the historic center can be a nightmare.
The Rooms and Comfort
The accommodations at Residenza Cipressi e Olivi strike that perfect balance between homey and refined without trying too hard. My room had this lovely view through the olive groves, and honestly, waking up to that each morning made the whole stay feel more special than I expected from a three-star property. The furnishings are tasteful — not flashy, but comfortable and well-maintained. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything was; you can actually open your windows at night and hear nothing but the occasional rustle of leaves.
Exploring the Neighborhood
The Colli district is one of those areas that locals know about but tourists often miss, and that’s actually part of its charm. There are some fantastic family-run trattorias within walking distance where you’ll hear more Italian than English, which is always a good sign. The hillside paths are perfect for evening strolls — I found myself taking these long walks after dinner just because the views over Verona’s rooftops were too good to pass up. It’s the kind of neighborhood where you can grab fresh bread from a local bakery in the morning and feel like you’re living there rather than just visiting.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes Residenza Cipressi e Olivi work is that it gives you the best of both worlds — you’re away from the tourist chaos but still connected to everything that makes Verona special. The fact that couples consistently rate the location so highly tells you everything you need to know about the romantic appeal of staying up in the hills. It’s not trying to be something it isn’t, but what it does offer — peaceful surroundings, genuine local character, and that unbeatable hillside setting — it delivers beautifully. For the price point, you’re getting an experience that feels much more upscale than you’d expect.

Very lovely property surrounded by vineyards. It's further from the city center, but it was not a problem because we had a car. The house is nicely decorated and very clean.
Communication with the agency was excellent, and they gave us very detailed instructions on how to do self-check-in and how to find the house.Vladimír from Slovakia – 30 January 2023 (9/10)
