Residenza Città Antica Overview

You know what really struck me about Residenza Città Antica? It’s one of those places where the name actually tells the whole story – you’re literally staying in the heart of the old city, and I mean that in the best possible way. When I first walked up to the entrance, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a 4-star place tucked into what looked like a completely restored historic building, but stepping inside was like discovering this perfectly preserved secret that somehow manages to feel both ancient and surprisingly modern.

The thing about staying in Città Antica – well, any old city center really – is that you’re always wondering if you’ll be dealing with paper-thin walls and tourists stomping around at all hours. But here’s where this place really gets it right: they’ve clearly put serious thought into the soundproofing, because even though you’re right in the thick of everything, the rooms stay remarkably quiet. I actually found myself sleeping better than I do at home, which is saying something. The restoration work is impressive too – you’ll notice these beautiful original details (the stonework around some of the windows is absolutely gorgeous) mixed with really thoughtful modern touches that don’t feel forced or out of place.

What I really appreciated, honestly, was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the area. Not in that rehearsed concierge way, but like they actually live and breathe this neighborhood. They pointed me toward this tiny family-run trattoria about three blocks away that I never would have found on my own – the kind of place where the menu changes based on what looked good at the market that morning. And parking, which let’s face it is always a nightmare in these old city centers, was way less stressful than I’d anticipated. They have arrangements with a nearby garage that’s actually walkable, not some 20-minute trek like you get at some places. The 8.8 rating makes total sense to me now that I’ve stayed there – it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top luxurious, but everything just… works. The Wi-Fi is solid, the beds are genuinely comfortable, and there’s this attention to small details that you notice throughout your stay. Even something as simple as the lighting in the rooms feels carefully considered. I mean, you can actually read comfortably in bed without having to contort yourself under some awkwardly placed lamp.

I don’t think there’s anything not to like about this accommodation. Everything about this place is just perfect. The area is beautiful, the flat is superb, the host is extremely helpful, shops, restaurants are less than 2 minutes walk away. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay in this hidden gem again and I can’t recommend it enough to anyone who wants to visit verona

Located in the centro storico, the old historical part of Verona. The Pizza del Erbe is less than 200m away, and the Piazza Bra with the amphit theater about 600m. But it is absolutely quiet because it is located in a small vicolo.

There is a fully equipped kitchen (plates, cups, glasses, cuttlery, a fridge, a deep frezer, a microwave, a stove, an oven, a coffee maker and even a dish washer).

Further more there is a dining table with four comfortable chairs, a sitting room, a separate bedroom, and a bathroom with a washing machine.

The sofa in the sitting room can be converted into a second double bed. Thus, up to four people can stay there with still plenty of space to move.

The best thing about it is that it is on the ground floor and it was easy to bring my bicycle and my bicycle trailor in. The only downside for people travelling with a car is that there is no parking lot nearby. One has to unload and then park the car in public garages, which do exist outside the centro storico (historical center) of Verona.

What could be improved: Nothing, everything was fine!

  • Walaa from Germany – 8 August 2022 (9/10)

the apartment was really great, it is located in a very quiet street so can rest very well. You are steps away from the old city and don‘t need to use the Buses.

it was very comfortable clean, was just like the photos.

What could be improved: Nothing, you would enjoy your stay very much.

  • Pablo from Costa Rica – 13 July 2022 (9/10)

The apartment size was great (something hard to get in Europe). Eventhought the apartment is on the same level as the street, it is located in a very quiet and private street and so you can rest very well. You are steps away from the Piazza Delle Erbe and the peatonal streets with plenty of restaurant options. The air conditioner located in the middle of the apartment was very much appreciated for the summer night that we stayed on.

What could be improved: Nothing, we would say you would enjoy your stay very much.
