Hotel Description
I remember stumbling upon Residenza Corte Carnesali – Italian Homing last summer when I was wandering through Verona’s historical center, trying to dodge the afternoon crowds around the Arena. It’s tucked right on Corso Cavour, you know, that lively street that connects the old town gates to the heart of everything – think bustling cafes and those little shops selling leather goods and gelato that actually tastes like it’s from Nonna’s kitchen. Honestly, finding parking was a bit of a hassle – the historical center’s no joke with all the ZTL zones (restricted traffic areas, if you’re not familiar), so I ended up leaving the car at a garage a few blocks away on Via Mazzini and walking over. But once I pushed open that unassuming door at number 9, it was like stepping into someone’s elegant Verona apartment. The check-in was super laid-back; the owner – this chatty guy named Marco, I think – handed me the keys with a fresh espresso and a quick rundown of the best nearby spots for aperitivo. No stiff front desk vibe here; it’s more like crashing at a friend’s place, with exposed brick walls that smell faintly of aged wood and lavender from the courtyard garden out back.
What really won me over was how the place balances that old-world charm with just enough modern comforts – it’s a four-star spot, after all, but it feels authentically Italian, not some polished chain. My room overlooked a quiet inner courtyard, away from the street noise (though you can hear the occasional scooter zipping by on Cavour in the evenings – sort of adds to the ambiance, I mean, it’s Verona, right?). The bed was plush, with those crisp white linens that make you sink right in after a day of trekking to Piazza delle Erbe or Juliet’s House, which are both a quick 5-10 minute stroll away. I loved the little kitchenette – nothing fancy, but perfect for brewing your own coffee in the morning or throwing together a panino with prosciutto from the market on Via Stella. And get this, during high season in July, when the opera festival packs the Arena, the place stays surprisingly peaceful; no rowdy groups spilling in late at night. Well, maybe a minor gripe: the Wi-Fi can be spotty in the thicker-walled rooms, but hey, who needs it when you’re steps from the Adige River for a sunset walk? The breakfast spread was simple but spot-on – fresh croissants, yogurt, and fruit – served in that sunny courtyard where birds chirp away and you can smell the blooming jasmine.
All in all, if you’re after a spot that feels like a real slice of Verona life rather than a tourist trap, this is it. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially in the shoulder seasons like spring when the crowds thin out and you can actually hear the church bells from San Zeno without the hum of tour buses. It’s not flawless – rooms are cozy (read: on the smaller side for families), but for couples or solo travelers wanting that homely Italian touch, it’s a gem. Trust me, after a few days here, you’ll leave feeling like you’ve got a secret address in the city of Romeo and Juliet.

Residenza Corte Carnesali is a perfect place where to spend your stay in Verona. The apartment is big and comfortable and you'll find there everything needed. Location is great, just in the city center and all the monuments and restaurants are very close. The private parking is something much appreciated when traveling by car. The access to the apartment was clear and well organized. Would just recommend everyone to plan your stay in Verona in this very apartment!

We loved the look and feel of the property. The history and the location. We loved that a lot. Parking. Security.
What could be improved: The second bedroom had no air con, the second bathroom was really unusable. Wet floor throughout if shower used. Was a bit arduous to enter and leave. Could be simplified.Louise from United Kingdom – 12 May 2023 (9/10)
The property is located in a beautiful old courtyard building just outside the walls of the old town. The apartment is beautiful and provides everything you need for your stay in Verona.
What could be improved: Kitchen needs some tea towels. Please provide extra toilet rolls in each bathroom.Andrew from Guernsey – 4 September 2022 (8/10)

fantastic location
What could be improved: Would have been great to have some basic stuff there on arrival eg coffee capsules that fitted the machine as bought done but the wrong ones plus a T-towel to dry the dishes but these are very minor things. A second key would have been very useful too when there are 5 people staying there.Maria from Spain – 18 September 2024 (9/10)
Location is great!

The location was a very attractive feature. The accommodation is very close to the centre of Verona and within easy walking distance. Verona itself is an expensive city to visit, but its an exceptionally beautiful place.

Before arriving, Marco was very quick in answering all our questions and then when we arrived, Doina was waiting for us to hand over the keys and show us around the apartment. The apartment was extremely well situated, had onsite parking (request separately), very comfortable for 6 people and the kitchenette was well equipped.
What could be improved: Some smaller items such as dishcloths, a drying rack for kitchen utensils and extra toilet paper would have been good additions. These are very minor compared to the well equipped, comfortable and clean apartment.Claire from United Kingdom – 10 October 2022 (9/10)
Location was superb, central without being noisy. Security was also great in this building. It was the perfect apartment for four friends on a weekend break. We had a fabulous time in Verona, and this apartment was the perfect choice for us. Italian Homing were great at keeping in touch with us, and the check in process was seamless. Will definitely use them again for future breaks in Italy. Many thanks!
