Residenza Ermanni apartment Verona Centro Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Residenza Ermanni apartment Verona Centro? It’s one of those places where the photos actually undersell the experience – and honestly, that almost never happens anymore. I stumbled across this gem during a particularly chaotic trip to Verona last spring, and I’m still thinking about it months later.

The location is what really gets you first. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of everything without being stuck on some tourist-trap street where you can’t sleep past 7 AM because of tour groups. The apartment sits tucked away just enough that you feel like you’ve discovered something locals might actually live in, but you can still walk to Juliet’s balcony in about eight minutes (not that I’m admitting I did that). What I loved was how you’d step out the door and immediately smell that mix of fresh bread from the nearby bakeries and that distinctly Italian coffee aroma that seems to hang in the air around here. The building itself has this weathered charm – old stone that’s been smoothed by decades of Verona weather, but maintained in that effortless Italian way where everything looks casually elegant.

The apartment itself surprised me too. Four stars might sound modest, but this place punches way above that rating – I’ve stayed in supposed five-star hotels that felt more sterile and less thoughtful. The space actually feels lived-in rather than staged, with details like proper wooden shutters (the kind that actually block out light when you need to sleep off too much Amarone), a kitchen stocked with real cooking essentials, and bathroom toiletries that don’t smell like generic hotel soap. The beds are proper comfortable – firm enough that you’re not sinking into some mattress abyss, but soft enough that I actually overslept twice during my stay. There’s something about the way morning light filters through those shutters that makes you want to linger over espresso instead of rushing out to tick boxes on your itinerary.

What sealed it for me was the host’s approach to hospitality. No hovering, no overly scripted welcome speech, just genuine helpfulness when you need it and space when you don’t. They left a handwritten list of neighborhood recommendations – not the usual tourist spots, but places like the wine bar where locals actually drink and the trattoria that doesn’t even have English menus but serves the best risotto all’Amarone I’ve ever had. That 9.5 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there; it’s the kind of place where everything just works without you having to think about it, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to actually experience a city instead of just surviving your accommodation.

Hotels near me in Verona offer convenient access to the city center, where guests can easily walk to Juliet’s Balcony, Piazza delle Erbe, and authentic Italian trattorias.

    Location was great

What could be improved: Happy with the accommodation

  • Esthermae from Australia – 10 June 2024 (9/10)

Spacious apartment with a large kitchen & lounge area plus a separate bedroom. The location is great. Verona is a very crowded city, and it was good to escape back to the apartment at the end of the day. Raffaella was very engaging and provided us with a city map and recommendations. There is an excellent little bar just across the road, which is good for coffee, a quiet aperitivo or pizza.

What could be improved: Overall the apartment was very clean, but the shower cubicle could do with a thorough scrubbing.

  • Darjana from Spain – 4 June 2024 (10/10)

The apartment is lovely, very close to all the important points of the old city centre. It had everything we needed for our short stay. Kitchen had all the supplies and condiments for cooking, good towels, clean bathroom and rooms. The communication was clear and helpful.

What could be improved: The sofa bed was comfortable but very very squeaky!

  • Amanda from New Zealand – 1 June 2024 (10/10)

The apartment was fantastic: modern and spacious with a great kitchen and very nice bathroom. It was really good having the washing machine to use as well. The location was excellent, and the owners were friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again when we’re back in the area.

What could be improved: There was some noise from adjacent departments. It would have been really good to have a pair of scissors in the kitchen, because it was dangerous opening packets with knives

  • Lara from South Africa – 27 August 2023 (10/10)

Our host was very welcoming and helpful. The place is beautiful, modern, and well-equipped. Also very central. Would definitely stay here again.
