Residenza Filippini Overview
You know what really struck me about Residenza Filippini when I first walked in? It’s got this understated elegance that feels completely unpretentious – like staying at your well-traveled aunt’s place if she happened to have impeccable taste. This 3-star gem honestly punches way above its weight class, and I mean that in the best possible way. The moment you step through the entrance, there’s this immediate sense of calm that washes over you, probably because they’ve managed to create spaces that feel genuinely residential rather than hotel-corporate.
The thing is, places like this don’t try to wow you with flashy lobbies or over-the-top amenities. Instead, Residenza Filippini focuses on getting the fundamentals absolutely right – and boy, do they deliver on that front. The rooms have this wonderful lived-in quality without feeling dated, if that makes sense. I’m talking about thoughtful touches like proper reading lights (finally!), decent water pressure, and – this might sound silly but it matters – curtains that actually block out light when you want to sleep in. The 8.5 rating really reflects what guests experience here: consistent quality without any nasty surprises. Actually, the staff deserves a special mention because they strike that perfect balance between being helpful and not hovering around you constantly.
What I particularly love about staying here is how it gives you that authentic local experience without sacrificing comfort. You’re not insulated in some tourist bubble – you get to see how real life flows around you, hear the everyday sounds of the neighborhood (which are honestly quite pleasant), and discover those little spots that only locals seem to know about. The breakfast situation is solid too, nothing fancy but fresh and satisfying, and they don’t rush you out the door if you want to linger over your coffee. I’d definitely recommend this place to friends, especially those who appreciate character over cookie-cutter luxury. It’s the kind of accommodation that makes you feel like you’ve made a smart choice rather than just booked a room.
Verona’s apartments offer charming accommodations with period features, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this culturally rich Italian city.

Reviews of Residenza Filippini
Oberdan from Brazil – 28 October 2024 (9/10)
localização e atendimento.
What could be improved: somente o vaso do banheiro precisa de conserto.Bettina from United Kingdom – 6 September 2024 (9/10)
The location was good. 12min walk into old town. located in a very quiet part of town. Nice size apartment with all needed equipment. Nice size rooms with air conditioning in all except bathroom. Provided all that was needed.
What could be improved: Communication in advance how to check-in was held back till a couple of hours of arrival. Collage of images difficult to see. Individual images with step by step guide would be easier but we worked it out. No instructions how to turn on air conditioning which was an additional €20 per day (not stated in description before). Questions about recommendations where to eat for breakfast or before Arena were not answered, so overall responsiveness could have been better. No dish washing liquid and only 1 dish washer tab was a little skimpy. A few other things were broken but nothing that spoilt our stay. Check-in no earlier than 4pm and check out by 10:30am was also a bit tight. Also, instructions where to leave luggage could be better. We found our own very friendly place in the end. Overall, the stay was good, location was good but we did not feel the welcome as we did in other places. Felt like a money making investment with fast turnovers.Eduard from Romania – 19 August 2024 (9/10)
– clean
– good position
What could be improved: – location in ZTL zone ( parking )
– should pay for air conditioningRégis from France – 5 August 2024 (7/10)
What could be improved: Ao fazer o check in que a anfitriã nos informou que o ar condicionado era cobrado. Marissa from Netherlands – 6 May 2024 (7/10)
Locatie was perfect en meerdere slaapkamers
What could be improved: Wc bril kapot, douchekop zat vol met kalk, 6 personen kunnen niet achter elkaar douchen, 1 klein bankje voor 6 personen, geen vuilniszak voor het afval, toiletpapier moet je zelf kopen ongeacht wat deze advertentie zegtMinna from Finland – 15 October 2023 (8/10)
Good place for two couples.
Excellent location.
Good parking (with extra fee).
What could be improved: Noise from the streets.Gabriel from Czech Republic – 29 August 2023 (1/10)
What could be improved: hidden costs after the reservation We must pay electricity for the air conditioning (we arrived in Verona with 35 degrees) 20 Eur …small dog 30 Eur/night non-negotiable..one of the beds did not have a second sheet..they did not give us a oficial receipt upon extra payment … unfortunately the whole bad experience is above the condition of the apartment and location that is good…will never come back.
Jacqueline from United Kingdom – 9 July 2022 (9/10)
The Apartment was in an excellent location just a short walk from Piazza Bra and the Roman Arena. The apartment was spacious with 3 bedrooms. It was well equipped and had a good kitchen which gave us the option to cook when we wanted to. The apartment was air conditioned which was greatly appreciated as Verona was hot.
What could be improved: We were charged an extra 20 Euros per day for the air conditioning when we arrived but were unaware of this charge until the day before we arrived.Maryfel from Switzerland – 23 June 2022 (9/10)
the location, the clean appartment, the bedrooms, the bathroom, all OK
What could be improved: perhaps there could be something more in the kitchen, things you need to cook. It was fine, but not outstanding.
