Residenza Girardi Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Residenza Girardi, you immediately sense you’ve found something special in Verona’s historic center. The building itself has that weathered Italian charm — you know, the kind where centuries of history seem to seep from the stone walls. It’s not flashy or imposing, but there’s an understated elegance that feels authentically Veronese. The entrance on Via Francesco Emilei is easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, which honestly adds to the intimate, almost secret feeling of staying here.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about this three-star gem — the location is absolutely unbeatable. I mean, couples consistently rate it 9.6 for good reason. You’re literally in the heart of Verona’s historical center, where cobblestone streets wind past medieval buildings and every corner reveals another postcard-worthy scene. The famous Arena di Verona is just a few minutes’ walk away, and you can easily stroll to Juliet’s House without breaking a sweat. What I love most is that you’re close enough to everything that matters, but tucked away on a quieter street that doesn’t get the heavy tourist foot traffic.

The Rooms

The accommodations at Residenza Girardi strike that perfect balance between historic character and modern comfort. The rooms aren’t huge — this is a centuries-old building in Italy’s historic center, after all — but they’re thoughtfully designed and surprisingly well-appointed for a three-star property. You’ll find clean lines, quality linens, and those little touches that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The windows often frame views of Verona’s rooftops and church spires, which honestly never gets old, especially in the early morning light.

The Experience

What sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both refined and welcoming without any pretense. The staff genuinely knows their city and can point you toward the best local trattorias (the ones where actual Veronese families eat, not just tourists). There’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t try to be everything to everyone — instead, Residenza Girardi does what it does really well. The atmosphere is calm and sophisticated, perfect for couples who want to experience Verona without the chaos of a large hotel.

Why Guests Love It

The 8.3 rating tells the story, but it’s really that location score of 9.6 that captures why people keep coming back. You’re staying in the real Verona, not some tourist bubble on the outskirts. When you step outside, you’re immediately part of the city’s rhythm — morning espresso at the corner bar, evening aperitivo in the piazzas, late-night strolls past illuminated monuments. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a temporary resident rather than just another tourist, and that makes all the difference in a city as romantic and historic as Verona.

  • Dana from United Kingdom – 15 October 2024 (7/10)

Very good location , spacious , good air con , near bars , restraints and attractions

What could be improved: No bin in the kitchen which was weird only a small sanitary one , both the windows were broke , one did not open and one did not lock ,

  • Abbymetal from Bulgaria – 20 September 2024 (8/10)

It was very clean and comfortable, good location in Verona, very beautiful and stylish place, good communication with the host😊

What could be improved: We had difficulty checking in, instructions not entirely clear, but quickly and easily resolved the misunderstanding with one call to the helpful hosts. The cleaning lady came in to clean the room 15 minutes earlier than the stated check out time while we were still inside and had to wait for us in the front until we left at 10:00.

  • Steven from Australia – 5 September 2024 (8/10)

The location, there was lots of space, it was convenient having a password instead of a key, I appreciated the elevator to take our luggage upstairs

What could be improved: No wifi, power outlets didn’t work, room was very hot, mattress and pillows were quite soft

  • Letícia from Ireland – 4 September 2024 (8/10)

The girl who did the check in for was us great

What could be improved: The air conditioning was not working. The room was very hot during the night and the air conditioning was making a very loud noise.

  • Hanna from Germany – 26 August 2024 (9/10)

  • Ldems from United Kingdom – 30 July 2024 (9/10)

Great location in a secure building all opened with key pads. Comfortable bed and the air conditioning was great to have. Coffee pods and machine a nice extra. Lots of help in finding the place from Nicolas and places to visit etc.

What could be improved: Nothing really . Fine for our one night stay.

  • Andrew from United Kingdom – 26 July 2024 (9/10)

Excellent location, lovely room, very comfortable and very clean!

What could be improved: The coded doors were difficult to use at times

  • Darren from United Kingdom – 24 July 2024 (9/10)

The apartment was really nice and tidy, also well situated from Verona centre.
The videos I received from the owner to access the property were a really good idea and very helpful.

What could be improved: I really couldn't fault the apartment to be honest.

  • Grant from United Kingdom – 22 July 2024 (8/10)

Great facilities and very spacious layout. So central to old town.

What could be improved: The key pad access was clunky.
