Residenza Locatelli Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Residenza Locatelli on Via Antonio Locatelli, you immediately get that feeling you’ve stumbled onto something special. This three-star boutique property sits right in Verona‘s historical center, and I mean really in the heart of it — you’re literally steps away from the main pedestrian streets where locals do their evening passeggiata. The building itself has that understated Italian elegance that doesn’t scream for attention but quietly whispers quality.

Location Magic

Honestly, the location here is pretty much perfect if you want to experience Verona like a local rather than just tick off tourist boxes. You can walk to Juliet’s balcony in about three minutes (though honestly, it’s overrated), but more importantly, you’re surrounded by authentic osterie and wine bars that most visitors never find. The couples who stay here absolutely love it — and I get why, because there’s something romantic about wandering these narrow streets at night when the day-trippers have gone home. You know what’s really nice? You can actually hear the church bells from your room without the constant hum of traffic.

The Accommodation Experience

The rooms at Residenza Locatelli strike that sweet spot between historic charm and modern comfort. I mean, you’re in a centuries-old building, so don’t expect massive spaces, but everything feels thoughtfully designed. The beds are genuinely comfortable — not just Italian-hotel-comfortable, but actually good for a proper night’s sleep. What impressed me most was the attention to soundproofing; despite being in the centro storico, you won’t be kept awake by late-night revelers (well, mostly). The bathrooms are compact but well-appointed, and the water pressure is surprisingly strong for an old building.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here feel particularly special because you’re already where everyone else is trying to get to. There’s a lovely café just around the corner where you can grab proper Italian coffee and cornetti — the kind of place where the barista remembers your order after two days. The staff at the residenza are genuinely helpful with recommendations, and they seem to actually know the neighborhood rather than just reciting tourist brochures. One thing I appreciated was their local insights about timing — like when to visit the markets or which evening aperitivo spots have the best cicchetti.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it lets you live in Verona rather than just visit it. You’re not stuck in some hotel district — you’re literally in the same streets where Veronese families have lived for generations. The 9.5 rating makes total sense when you experience how seamlessly everything works together: the location, the comfort level, and that intangible feeling of being somewhere authentic. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself planning your next trip back before you’ve even checked out, and couples especially seem to fall for its romantic, lived-in atmosphere.

We loved everything! The location was good for the train and also a quick walk to the main part of Florence. The apartment is huge! Comfortable bed and linens, and Francesco was there to help us check in and out. He was super nice, amazing stay!

  • Ejona from Albania – 31 March 2025 (10/10)

“Our stay in Verona was absolutely wonderful, thanks to Francesco! He is an exceptional host—kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The accommodation was spotless, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring the city. Francesco went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience, providing local tips and making us feel at home. We highly recommend staying here and would definitely return. Thank you, Francesco, for your amazing hospitality!”

  • Israel from United Kingdom – 29 March 2025 (9/10)

Francesco, was absolutely amazing, what a lovely guy and the place has so much to offer, It lacked nothing.
Great WiFi, plenty space, nice tea/coffee choices, fridge and Microwave. I will definitely highly recommend. Deserving of the 9+ rating.

What could be improved: This isn't an issue but a request if possible. It would be nice if the TV software could be updated, to use the apps like Netflix and etc.

  • Daniel from United States – 23 March 2025 (10/10)

This conveniently located apartment on a quiet street was fantastic. I wish that I was able to stay a few more days and enjoy both the apartment and the city of Verona. The location is only about a ten minute walk from the train station and about 15 minutes to reach the center of the old town. Francisco is a very friendly and detail oriented host. I would gladly stay in the apartment again if / when I return to Verona.

  • T from Romania – 13 March 2025 (10/10)

Francesco is an extremely kind and helpful person. Thank you for all the help you have provided!

  • Christopher from United Kingdom – 20 January 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location – Host was very friendly and helpful

What could be improved: The large size of the property and the cold weather at the time of our visit meant that the apartment was on the cool side. Not a problem though.

  • Adri from South Africa – 30 December 2024 (8/10)

Centrally situated. You could go to any direction and see wonderful architecture. Francesco is an amazing host. He is truly proud of his culture. He shared a lot of history and made wonderful suggestions. He also told us about the different culture within Verona. He is super attentive. I would go back to his place any time.

  • Lyra from Kosovo – 15 December 2024 (10/10)

I loved absolutely everything about my stay in Residenza Locatelli! All was good, starting from the check-in when we met with the host Francesco to collect the keys, the process went very smoothly. Francesco is an amazing host, super kind, helpful, and willing to be there for you for anything you might need.

The location couldn't be more perfect – you could walk over to the train station, in case you want to visit other cities while sleeping in Verona since it has good connections to many other fantastic places, such as Venice, Trento, Vincenza, etc. Moreover, you could also walk to the center of town and feel safe even at night.

As for the place itself, the apartment is spacious and clean and it smells heavenly. The rooms are cute and have all that you need. You can find tea, coffee, and even water in the kitchen. It truly felt like home, I had lovely evenings there.

Grazie mille Francesco, it was an incredible experience.

What could be improved: No complaints at all! Perfetto! 🙂

  • Alice from United Kingdom – 6 December 2024 (10/10)

Owner was amazing! We arrived early and he let us leave our bags whilst he got the room ready. He gave us a full tour and explained how to use things and showed us places we could visit on the map. The apartment is huge and the bed super comfy. We will be recommending this place to our family and friends and would stay here again if we come back to Verona. 10/10!

  • Heinz from Germany – 10 November 2024 (10/10)

The location is spacious, renovated, absolutely clean and well equipped with everything you need. The host is extremly helpful, responsive and friendly. The location is easy to reach from the train station and is close to cafes and restaurants. The inner city is a 10 minutes walk. Ideal for a short visit to Verona.
