Residenza Madonna Verona Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Residenza Madonna Verona on Corso Porta Borsari, you immediately know you’ve found something special. This three-star boutique property sits right in the thick of Verona’s historical center — I mean, you’re literally steps from the ancient Roman gate that gives the street its name. The building itself has that understated Italian elegance that doesn’t scream for attention but quietly commands respect. You know what struck me most? How the entrance feels like you’re being welcomed into someone’s refined home rather than checking into a typical hotel.
The Heart of Verona
Honestly, the location here is pretty much unbeatable. You can walk to Juliet’s balcony in about three minutes, and the Arena di Verona is maybe a five-minute stroll through charming cobblestone streets. What I really appreciated was being able to duck back to the hotel between sightseeing — something you can’t do when you’re stuck out in the suburbs. The Corso Porta Borsari itself is this lovely pedestrian street lined with boutiques and cafes, so you’re constantly discovering little gems just by stepping outside. Couples seem to absolutely love this spot (they’ve rated the location a perfect 10), and I can see why — it’s romantic without being touristy-crowded.
The Room Experience
The accommodations feel more like a stylish Italian apartment than a standard hotel room. Each space has been thoughtfully designed with period details that nod to Verona’s history while keeping things comfortable and modern. I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet everything was, considering you’re right in the city center — the windows do a great job of keeping street noise to a minimum. The bathrooms are compact but well-appointed, and honestly, when you’re spending most of your time exploring this incredible city, you just need a clean, comfortable place to recharge.
Local Insights
What really sets this place apart is how the staff seems to genuinely know their neighborhood. They pointed me toward this tiny osteria around the corner that I never would have found on my own — the kind of place where locals actually eat, not just tourists. The front desk folks were also spot-on with their timing advice (like when to visit the Arena to avoid crowds). You get the sense that they’re not just reciting from a script but actually live and breathe this part of Verona. There’s no formal concierge service, but honestly, you don’t need it when the people working here are this knowledgeable.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t the kind of place that tries to wow you with flashy amenities or over-the-top service. Instead, it delivers exactly what you want when exploring a city like Verona — a comfortable, well-located base that feels authentically Italian. The 8.3 rating makes perfect sense once you experience how everything just works smoothly here. You’re paying for location and character, and you get both in spades. If you want to feel like you’re actually staying in Verona rather than just visiting it, this is your spot.

What could be improved: Excellent location.Jane from United Kingdom – 19 May 2024 (9/10)
Location, comfortable beds, characterful apartment, great communication with the owners.
What could be improved: We didn’t mind the piazza being rather noisy at night – that is to be expected if you stay in an apartment with such a fantastic view in a city but some people might prefer a quieter place.Joana from Portugal – 9 October 2023 (9/10)
What could be improved: They try to charge a higher touristic tax that the one on the booking reservation.

Carlos from Spain – 11 September 2023 (9/10)
Excellent location, with Piazza Delle Erbe at the corner. Apartment was very clean and comfortable, the couple's room was very big (the second not that much, but still comfortable). We did not use the kitchen, but it was properly equiped. Service to get the keys was very convenient, as my arrival time (19h on a Friday) was not so easy
