I found myself wandering through these narrow medieval streets each morning, discovering little cafés and family-run shops that I probably would have missed staying closer to the main piazzas. The Porta Palio area has this authentic neighborhood vibe – you’ll hear Italian conversations drifting from windows, smell fresh bread from the local bakery, and actually see how people live here beyond the tourist facade.

What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know their stuff about the city. Not just the obvious recommendations, but they pointed me toward this incredible little osteria where I had the best risotto all’Amarone of my trip, and they knew exactly which evenings the outdoor markets run late. The rooms themselves are comfortable without being fancy – I mean, you’re not getting marble bathrooms or Egyptian cotton sheets, but everything is clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly quiet considering you’re right in the historic center. Actually, that 9.0 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there because it’s one of those places that just gets the fundamentals right without any pretense.   Light and airy apartment with good facilities. Very clean. Comfy bed, good bathrooms and nice decor. Quiet location and easy to get to the centre of Verona and the railway station. The host was easy to contact and very helpful.

  The property was very clean, quiet and nicely laid out. It was located conveniently for the city centre and the railway station. The host kindly let us leave our luggage at the apartment as we had an evening flight and needed to check out at 11am.

  Some tea bags for the first day.
  There was only one paper napkin. A good supply or some kitchen towel would be very useful.

  Very smooth checking good communication elevator was handy coffee shop downstairs plenty of shops near by walking distance to main sights 20 min to thermal park kids loved it same to garda lake .
