You know what caught me off guard about Residenza San Faustino? It’s one of those places that feels way more intimate than you’d expect from the photos online. I mean, sure, it’s a 3-star property, but honestly – sometimes that works in your favor when you want something that doesn’t feel like a corporate hotel factory.

The whole place has this quietly elegant vibe that I really appreciated. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top, just genuinely comfortable in a way that made me want to actually hang out in the common areas instead of hiding in my room. The staff here actually remembers your name after day one, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re traveling. And speaking of rooms – mine was larger than I anticipated, with these nice touches that showed someone was paying attention to details. The bathroom was properly updated (thank goodness), and I loved that they didn’t go overboard with trendy design choices that’ll look dated in two years.

What really sold me on this place was how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re not stuck in some tourist bubble where everything feels artificial – instead, you get to experience what it’s like to stay somewhere locals actually live and work. I found myself walking different routes each morning just to see what I’d discover, and there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t scream “hotel district.” The noise level was perfectly manageable too, even with the windows open on warmer evenings. Parking can be a bit of an adventure (as it tends to be in older Italian cities), but the front desk folks are genuinely helpful with suggestions rather than just shrugging and wishing you luck. That 8.4 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place where everything works like it should, the people are genuinely welcoming, and you end up having a better time than you planned. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need from a hotel stay.

  The room is nice, daily cleaning was really great and good complementary breakfast.
  The owner was very kind, responsive and always tried to accomodade our needs.

  The place is beautifully situated. A short walk and you're in the hub of the action. The most important sites to see are nearby. It's in a quaint area. The host was great.
  
  What could be improved: The coffee machine ran out of water a few times before I could have my coffee!! I guess others drank lots of coffee!

  I might be biased (Verona is my hometown) but I loved every second of my short stay. The property is in the heart of my favorite part of the town, north of the River Adige, where every corner tells a story. The breakfast was really nice. A tasty and fresh croissant delighted my morning. Monica is a fantastic host and she has great taste!
  
  What could be improved: Just make sure you get the permit if you park the car in front of the property or It might become a target of a local sport amongst the not really nice neighbours: rotten eggs tossing.
  The owner, Monica, doesn’t have any responsibility of it, of course. But just don’t forget to ask for the permit, like I did. No problem, I spent 1 euro at the car wash and the car was clean again dear nice neighbors.

  Great service, comfy bed. Didn’t realize breakfast was included, so that was a bonus. The breakfast is a little basic, but filling and great before you leave to explore the city.
  
  What could be improved: There is free parking in the street outside the hotel, but not reserved for guests. When we arrived we really struggled to find parking in the surrounding streets (Sunday afternoon). The hotel kindly gave us a parking permit so we had a lot more options, and that was greatly appreciated.

  A comfortable stay in a smallish single bedroom. The breakfast provided in the room was simple but satisfying. The location is excellent and is very close to the city centre and also has a few osterias nearby.
