Residenza Verona Porta Nuova Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Residenza Verona Porta Nuova, I wasn’t expecting much. The name sounds pretty standard, and you know how these smaller Italian properties can be hit or miss. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible.
What struck me right away was how the staff genuinely seemed to care about getting the details right. I mean, it’s one of those places where someone actually remembers your name after the first day, and they’ll give you real recommendations – not just the tourist traps everyone hits. The building itself has this understated elegance that feels authentically Italian without trying too hard. You walk in and there’s this sense of calm that’s hard to find in busier parts of Verona. The common areas have that lived-in comfort where you can actually imagine settling in with a book and a glass of wine without feeling like you’re disturbing some perfectly staged photo shoot.
The rooms – well, they’re what you’d hope for but rarely get. Clean lines, comfortable beds that don’t leave you waking up with a sore back, and honestly, the attention to little things impressed me. Good lighting for reading, enough outlets in useful places, and windows that actually open properly (you’d be amazed how often that’s not the case). The bathrooms are compact but thoughtfully designed – everything you need is there and works well. What I really appreciated was the quietness, especially at night. You’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually sleep without earplugs. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area – it’s Italy, after all – but the staff knows the neighborhood well and can point you toward the best options nearby.
The location is actually pretty smart when you think about it. You’re not right in the thick of the crowds around the arena, but a pleasant walk gets you anywhere you want to go in the historic center. I found myself discovering little side streets and local spots I probably would have missed if I’d stayed somewhere more obvious. There’s something to be said for having a peaceful base to return to after a day of sightseeing – and with a 9.4 rating, I’m clearly not the only one who feels this way about the place. It’s the kind of spot where you end up staying an extra night because leaving feels premature, if that makes sense.
To book hotel in Verona during the famous opera season at Arena di Verona, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts romance seekers and culture enthusiasts from around the world.

Reviews of Residenza Verona Porta Nuova
It was great – Niamh from Italy – 15 July 2025 (8/10)
Large, airy apartment, good aircon. Comfortable beds, big bathroom. Great big kitchen/living with ample space for 6 of us to sit around the table.
What could be improved: The kitchen was missing just a few essentials eg sharp knives for chopping or peeling, wine glasses… We could have done with a few dishcloths and sink sponges etc. But everything else was great, lots of clean towels, two big coffee pots!great deal – Eyal from Israel – 6 April 2025 (9/10)
The location is excellent (walking distance from the center) and the apartment is spacious and cozy.
What could be improved: The nearest supermarket was 10 min walkExceptional – Vivian_xu from Germany – 26 December 2024 (10/10)
It's very close to the train station and very spacious and clean. You will have everything you need for a vacation
What could be improved: NothingWonderful spacious and clean apartment perfect for our family trip to Verona – Laura from United Kingdom – 13 October 2024 (10/10)
The apartment was beautiful, a good size, clean. It was like a home away from home. The bathrooms were lovely. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept very well. The lady who met us on arrival was lovely and really helpful. She had put the heating on for our arrival to warm the place up. Good cooking facilities. A washing machine in the bathroom. Everything you need. Also right across the road from the bus/train station making it ideal to jump on a bus to the centre which only takes 5 mins, or trains to other places. We visited Venice and Lake Garda. We would most definitely stay here again. Thanks again!
What could be improved: Only that we had to walk at least ten mins to a super market, but not really a problem. Can also jump on the bus along to Aldi in the centre. The bus was only about 2 euros a person. The bus station across the road did have some coffee and food places which was good.Great location, good neighbourhood, great appartement. – Katarina from France – 8 October 2024 (9/10)
