First Impressions

When I first walked up to Romantic Verona, I honestly wasn’t prepared for how perfectly it captures the essence of its name. This four-star boutique hotel sits right on Piazzetta Municipio, and I mean right in the thick of things — you’re literally steps away from the medieval heart of Verona. The building itself has that classic Italian charm you’d expect, but what struck me most was how intimate it feels. It’s not one of those massive hotels where you get lost in the lobby; instead, you feel like you’re staying at a sophisticated friend’s place in the city center.

Location That Actually Matters

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places that claim to be “centrally located,” but this one delivers in a way that’ll spoil you for other hotels. You can walk to Juliet’s balcony in about three minutes — and honestly, early morning is the best time to go before the tour groups arrive. The Arena di Verona is just as close, and there’s something magical about hearing the sound check for evening performances drifting through your window. What I really appreciated was being able to duck back to the hotel between sightseeing without it being a whole production. Plus, the narrow cobblestone streets around here are lined with those little wine bars locals actually frequent, not just tourist traps.

The Room Experience

My room had this perfect balance of historic character and modern comfort that’s surprisingly hard to find in Verona’s old town. The exposed beams and period details made it feel authentically Italian, but the air conditioning actually worked — which, trust me, matters in summer. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, and I loved the little touches like quality linens and that soft lighting that makes everything look romantic (hence the name, I suppose). The windows opened onto the piazzetta, so you get these lovely glimpses of daily Italian life happening below.

Neighborhood Discoveries

What really won me over was how the hotel connects you to authentic Verona life. There’s this tiny restaurant called Osteria del Bugiardo just around the corner that serves incredible local wines — the kind of place you’d never find without staying in this neighborhood. The morning market in Piazza delle Erbe is a five-minute stroll, and watching the vendors set up while sipping coffee from the bar downstairs became my daily ritual. You know what’s funny? I ended up spending less time in my actual room because the streets themselves became like an extension of the hotel experience.

After talking to other guests and experiencing it myself, I get why couples rate this place so highly for romantic getaways. It’s not just the name or the location — though being able to wander hand-in-hand through medieval streets at sunset doesn’t hurt.   Nice and comfortable room in a great location. Close to everything waking. Nice restaurants around. Huge TV with Netflix and lots of details as great speakers for the tv and lots of lights. We had a few problems with the jacuzzi and speakers and the owner was there to fix it.
