San Nicolò 3 Overview
You know what caught me off guard about San Nicolò 3? I walked in expecting another run-of-the-mill four-star place, but honestly, this felt more like staying at a really well-curated boutique property that just happens to have excellent service standards. The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s one of those places where small details actually matter, and you can tell someone’s been thinking about the guest experience instead of just checking boxes.
The whole vibe is refreshingly understated, if that makes sense. I mean, you’re not going to find marble lobbies or over-the-top chandeliers here, but what you will find is this sort of effortless elegance that feels genuinely Italian rather than trying too hard to impress tourists. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake – good linens that don’t feel scratchy, lighting that actually works for reading, and (thank god) proper soundproofing because nobody wants to hear their neighbor’s late-night phone calls. What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to know their stuff without being pushy about it. You ask for a restaurant recommendation, and instead of handing you a generic tourist trap list, they’ll actually think about what you might like based on your conversation.
The breakfast situation is solid – nothing revolutionary, but they do this thing with local pastries that’s worth getting up for, and the coffee is properly strong without being bitter. I stayed during what felt like shoulder season, so it wasn’t crazy busy, but even then you could sense this place runs smoothly year-round. Check-in was refreshingly quick, and they had this practical approach to everything that I found kind of charming – like, they’ll store your luggage without making it feel like they’re doing you a massive favor, and if you need directions somewhere, they’ll draw you a little map instead of just pointing vaguely down the street. The whole place just feels like it’s run by people who’ve actually traveled themselves and know what matters when you’re trying to enjoy a trip without dealing with unnecessary hassles.

Excellent location in the heart of Verona, spacious and with all you need if you are here to explore the city. Parking available at extra cost within the building (great). Only if you insist to have a view you need to go elsewhere.
Bojan from Serbia – 11 March 2025 (10/10)
Great location. Virginia was very helpful.
What could be improved: Parking in a public garage.Alex from United States – 26 December 2024 (9/10)
This place is very close to the coliseum and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. It was a nice apartment with all the amenities, and the apartment manager's office is in the same building. When we arrived, we got a map with annotations from one of the office staff to help us navigate the city. We also were able to store our luggage in the office for several hours once we checked out for a small fee that allowed us more time to explore the city. That kind of friendly service made our time in Verona more enjoyable.
What could be improved: The apartment was functional, clean, and close to the action, but the design aesthetic was average for what we experienced during our time in Italy. So no complaints at all, but for those who highly value design and a sense of luxury, realize that this place is average, and the appeal lies elsewhere.Tanya from United Kingdom – 10 December 2024 (10/10)
The apartment was fantastic. Very large, clean and a brilliant location. And the organiser could not have been more helpful. Would highly recommend!
