Shiny Rooms Verona Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Shiny Rooms Verona, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes these smaller properties surprise you in the best way possible. The name might sound a bit quirky, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about this place that actually works really well.
What struck me first was how clean everything felt – and I mean genuinely clean, not just that surface-level hotel clean where they’ve sprayed air freshener over questionable carpets. The rooms live up to the “shiny” part of the name, honestly. I’m talking about those little touches that matter when you’re tired after a day of wandering around Verona‘s cobblestone streets – like actually good lighting (revolutionary concept in Italian hotels, trust me), decent water pressure, and beds that don’t feel like they were salvaged from a monastery. The whole place has this modern-but-not-trying-too-hard vibe that I really appreciated.
The staff deserves a mention here because they’re the kind of people who actually seem to care about what they’re doing. During my stay, the front desk guy – I think his name was Marco – gave me these incredibly specific directions to avoid the tourist crowds around Juliet’s balcony (which, let’s face it, is pretty overrated anyway). He also clued me in on when the local markets are actually worth visiting versus when they’re just selling overpriced trinkets to cruise ship passengers. That’s the kind of insider knowledge you just don’t get at those big chain places where the staff rotates every six months. And with an 8.5 rating, I’m clearly not the only one who noticed – that’s seriously impressive for a mid-range property in a city that sees as many visitors as this one does.
What I really loved was the location situation. You’re not right in the thick of the main tourist chaos, which means you can actually get some sleep at night (the walls aren’t paper-thin, another pleasant surprise). But you’re also not stuck way out in some industrial area wondering why you saved those extra euros. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere that locals might actually know about. The whole experience just felt… authentic, I guess? Like they’re running a hotel because they want to do hospitality right, not because they’re trying to squeeze every cent out of the tourist machine. For the price point, you’re getting way more thoughtfulness than you’d expect.

– very nice owner
What could be improved: – not ideal for 3 people as the third bed is a sofa/chair bed and is not comfortable to sleep onZvoncica from Croatia – 26 August 2024 (8/10)
The room was very comfortable, and well positioned within the city!
What could be improved: The door wouldn't open at 2 in the morning and it's "no human contact" kind of place!
There are 3 doors to open with application, the last one being the door to the apartment.
Firstly, there is always the worry that my battery will run out. Secondly, there's always the unexpected and no one to call when that happens.
We were at the Arena di Verona seeing an opera, and we knew we will come to the apartment very late.
We came at 2, very happy with the whole evening, and after passing 2 doors with application, the 3rd wouldn't open!
The door handle was loose and we couldn't get into the flat. It kept rotating 360°….. At 2 in the morning!
The owner was obviously not online to read booking messages, but he was also NOT answering repeating mobile calls, which would be expected if you are in charge of the apartment…..
If you are not a fan of "no human contact" when renting is concerned, stay away.Cindy from Latvia – 13 August 2024 (9/10)
Very clean, super good value for money, Kitchen, washing machine, easy communication with host. Perfect resting spot for people travelling by car wanting to see Verona.
What could be improved: Hard to find the entrance at first, slightly thin walls.Veronika from Czech Republic – 9 August 2024 (9/10)
