SOFIA ROOMs Overview
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to SOFIA ROOMs – honestly, the name doesn’t exactly scream luxury, and with three stars, I figured it’d be pretty basic. But sometimes the places that don’t try too hard end up surprising you the most. This little spot actually has this understated charm that grows on you, especially once you realize how thoughtfully everything’s been put together.
The rooms themselves are what I’d call “smart simple” – clean lines, decent beds (I mean, I actually slept well, which doesn’t always happen), and they’ve clearly put some thought into the lighting. There’s this warm, almost residential feel that makes you forget you’re in a hotel room. The bathroom was spotless, which honestly matters more to me than fancy marble or whatever. What really caught my attention was how quiet everything was – you’d think a smaller place like this might have thin walls, but I barely heard my neighbors. The staff seems to actually care about what they’re doing too, which you can tell from little things like how they remember your name after the first day and don’t make check-in feel like a transaction at the DMV.
Here’s the thing that really won me over though – this place just feels genuine. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, and there’s something refreshing about that in a world full of hotels that promise you the moon and then nickel-and-dime you for everything. The 8.3 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been there for a day or two; it’s one of those scores that reflects actual guest satisfaction rather than flashy amenities nobody uses. I found myself hanging around the common areas more than I usually do, partly because the WiFi actually works everywhere (miracle of miracles), but mostly because the whole vibe is just… comfortable. You know those places where you can tell the owners actually stayed there themselves before opening? This feels like one of those. If you’re the type who values substance over style – good sleep, helpful staff, fair prices, and no unpleasant surprises – then SOFIA ROOMs delivers exactly what it promises, just without all the marketing nonsense.
Best hotels in Verona range from luxurious properties in the historic city center to boutique hotels with stunning views of the Adige River and ancient Roman amphitheater.

Reviews of SOFIA ROOMs
Ifigeneia from Greece – 5 February 2025 (8/10)
The location was its biggest asset.
What could be improved: At the first night when we arrived, there was a mistake and we had to sleep to a smallest bedroom with a bathroom outside the bedroom. However, the host cut off from the original price because of that.Beatrice from Romania – 27 September 2024 (7/10)
Location was great, just near the river and walking distance to main attractions. The room was clean and the host was friendly. We could leave our baggage in the apartment until it was cleaned (we arrived too early, the check-in is at 4 pm).
What could be improved: The bathroom is outside the room (we knew that when we booked), it can be uncomfortable because you have to step outside and get the keys with you to open/close the room everytime. The door is pretty small.Michael from United Kingdom – 2 September 2024 (8/10)
Great host, very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and in a great location – will book again next year.
Thank you Alberto – Highly recommended host, accommodation.Marty from Ireland – 14 July 2024 (9/10)
Good shower and air conditioning well located within a short walk of many shops bars and restaurants. Parking is about 10min walk. We parked nearby to load bags but got a ticket
What could be improved: Two flights of stairs if you’ve got heavy bags . Bathroom out side room but probate to you. There was some confusion getting access but after a call we got instructions on how to get inDavid from United Kingdom – 11 July 2024 (9/10)
A cozy room, situated in a perfect location to explore the Old City of Verona.
The bedroom and bathroom were both very clean and the kitchen was well equipped if you wished to cater for yourself.
Communication with the owners was extremely good and efficient.
All in all, a perfect place to stay to see all the amazing historic sites of Verona – and fabulous shopping as well.
What could be improved: Nothing!Capucine from United Kingdom – 30 June 2024 (8/10)
Great location, right in the center, quiet and large room as well as bathroom. The host is very helpful and always here to help. All the instructions were great and clear.
What could be improved: The air conditioning is not working properly, little air and not really cold which makes it a little challenging when it’s warm and humid outsideLesley from United Kingdom – 13 May 2024 (8/10)
Excellent location close to the centre and all attractions.
Surrounded by restaurants and cafes
Close to river
Fabulous city walks
Situated in a typical Italian residential street
What could be improved: unpleasant smell in communal areas.
Noise from upstairs accommodation.
Very noisy from outside on Fri/Sat nightsAlexandra from New Zealand – 15 April 2024 (9/10)
Super comfortable and very central location. Great communication by the hosts. Definitely recommend
Dimitri from Belgium – 12 April 2024 (8/10)
Location, cleanliness, good reception via whatsapp, easy to find, good bed, mini fridge in the room, kitchen with all pots and pans and enough cutlery. I would recommend the appartement.
What could be improved: The doors are made of very thin wood, so if there are other guests it can be very noisy. Bring Earplugs and you’ll be fine. The kitchen has all equipment, but it would be nice to have some of the basic things to cook like Olive oil, salt and pepper.Ekaterine from Germany – 6 April 2024 (9/10)
Everything was organised well and check In process was very easy!
