Hotel Description
You know, when I first rolled up to Soleluna Locazione Turistica in Verona’s Borgo Trento neighborhood, I was honestly a bit skeptical – it’s tucked away on Piazzale Aristide Stefani, which isn’t exactly the glitzy heart of the city like around Piazza delle Erbe, but that’s kind of the charm. I mean, Borgo Trento feels more like where actual Veronese live, with those tree-lined streets and old apartment blocks that whisper stories from the post-war era. I parked my rental on a side street off Via Goffredo Mameli – parking’s a hassle in Verona, especially if you’re not used to the ZTL zones, but there’s usually a spot if you circle once or twice, and the hotel folks can point you to free areas nearby. Walking in, the check-in was this low-key affair; the owner (I think his name was Marco? Anyway, super friendly guy) handed over the keys with a quick rundown of the area, including how to hop on the bus to the Arena if you’re not up for the 20-minute stroll across the Adige River via Ponte della Vittoria. The place has that unpretentious vibe – not a fancy lobby, just a clean entrance with a faint scent of espresso lingering from the morning brew, and honestly, after a long drive from Lake Garda, it felt like a relief.
What really won me over were the rooms – mine was on the second floor, sort of compact like you’d expect from a 3-star spot in Italy (no sprawling suites here, folks), but with these big windows that let in the golden afternoon light and a tiny balcony overlooking the piazza. You could hear the distant hum of scooters zipping down Lungadige San Giorgio in the evenings, but it quiets down after dark, which is a godsend if you’re jet-lagged. I appreciated the practical touches: a mini-fridge stocked with affordable local wines (try the Valpolicella if you’re into reds), and the bathroom had that classic Italian tile that’s cool underfoot in summer – Verona gets brutally hot in July, by the way, so book for spring or fall if you can. Breakfast was simple – croissants, yogurt, and cappuccino served in a sunny communal area – nothing gourmet, but it hit the spot before I wandered over to the nearby Borgo Trento Hospital area for a quick gelato at that little place on Via IV Novembre (Gelateria Ponte Pietra, I think? Anyway, it’s a local favorite, not touristy at all). Oh, and a minor gripe: the Wi-Fi can be spotty if everyone’s online at once, but hey, you’re in Verona – put the phone down and explore.
All in all, if you’re looking for an authentic slice of Verona without the crowds swarming the Juliet’s House chaos, Soleluna’s a solid pick with its 8.3 rating feeling well-earned. It’s not luxury – well, duh, it’s 3 stars – but for the price, you get that genuine neighborhood feel, easy access to spots like the Castelvecchio Museum (just a bridge away), and those quiet mornings where the church bells from nearby San Giorgio in Braida ring out like a gentle wake-up call. I stayed three nights last May and left thinking, you know what, this is the kind of place that makes you fall for Italy all over again – unpolished, welcoming, and perfectly positioned for day trips to the hills or just meandering the riverside paths. If you’re a solo traveler or couple on a budget, give it a shot; just remember to ask about bike rentals if you want to zip around like the locals do.

Very good – Rebecca from Germany – 3 June 2025 (8/10)
Really nice Host, gave me a lot of recommendations for the City. The flat was clean, with everything you need.
Very good – Oliver from United Kingdom – 5 September 2024 (8/10)
The facilities were very good and for a shared kitchen there was plenty of equipment. The host was super helpful and friendly with any questions we had about the place and also provided us with a map which was handy.
What could be improved: The only real negative was our first 2 nights we didn’t have the room we paid for as we paid for one with a balcony but we did our last night. Once the host explained the situation and reassured we could have it for our last day and night.Very good – Zoe from United Kingdom – 5 July 2024 (8/10)
Salvatore the host was super welcoming and informative. Room was beautifully decorated and spacious.
Nice and very clean room with all the facilities. The owner really made me feel welcome. Recommended – Conde from Portugal – 4 December 2023 (9/10)
The owner was really kind. He told me about what I should visit, what i could eat and some places he recommended. I couldn't ask for more. The room was big, comfy and very clean. Nothing was missing. It is in a walking distance from the historical center (about 15 min)
What could be improved: That was nothing I didn't like.Once you have found the building, it is very pleasant inside. It is noisy because of the busy traffic square it is situa – Everdina from Canada – 28 September 2023 (8/10)
I stayed in a beautiful room with a very nice bathroom. Nicely decorated and everything in good working order. Also a limited kitchen that can be used.
What could be improved: It is nearly impossible to find. Even the bus driver didn’t know the address when we were actually at the Square.
Very poor communication from Management. When asked which bus stop to take, they simply sent you the address of the location again. It is important to get of at “Ospedale Maggiore”
Don’t look for the Piazzale.
you’ll be right in front of the building. Look for the address number and enter the building. Even inside there is no sign of the hotel. Enter the building, turn left, take the elevator to the third-floor. Hopefully Salvatore is waiting for you. Otherwise you need to phone him.
Noisy place because it is an old building and it is right on a busy traffic Square.Superb – Jernej from Slovenia – 5 July 2023 (9/10)
The apartment is really clean and pretty. The room is also very nice and perfect for a one day stay or even longer. The beds are comfortable and the lre is an AC in the room. The owner is really kind. We enjoyed our stay
What could be improved: Maybe not the best for children or people who cant sleep with noise, because you can hear the strees through the windows, but if you are used to living by a street it is really not that badOvernight in Verona for a Concert at the Arena. – Susan from United Kingdom – 5 November 2022 (7/10)
In Verona for a big concert – impossible to find accommodation but this apartment was great. A walk from the centre of town but easy to reach by car. Great coffee machine in the kitchen with lots of coffee etc. Good for what we needed.
What could be improved: Limited street parking – difficult to park close to the apartment although there was a big underground car park that we somehow missed not too far away. It was fine for what we needed. A little noisy at night but nothing too much.Very good – Marta from Portugal – 5 October 2022 (8/10)
The room was very clean, there were a lot of bus stops near the house, as well as supermarkets. Salvatore was very helpful and told me about what to visit, what to ect ect etc. Gratzie mille 🥰
What could be improved: The kitchen could have better supplies, in the sense that the knifes were bad, there was no olive oil (which I could've bought, but I just didn't want to walk around with it). I wish there were recycling bins since there are outside the apartment.Great value in a good location! – Alice from United Kingdom – 19 September 2022 (8/10)
We booked the larger room which was a great size for 2 with a modern bathroom. Comfortable bed and a good air conditioning system. It was nice to have the bonus of a balcony, though it was a little noisy as the apartment is very near to the hospital so some siren noise throughout the night. Our host was very friendly and flexible as we arrived later than planned and he was happy to talk us through a map of Verona which was most helpful.
What could be improved: Some of the kitchen utensils need updating e.g. blunt knives, and a slightly larger and less wobbly set of furniture for the balcony would be great.Superb – Tatiana from Netherlands – 16 September 2022 (9/10)
Add information on how to get from the train station to the hotel by bus – the most important thing is where the bus stop is located, it is difficult to find it. Which buses go to the hotel
