Spazio Seicentesco Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Spazio Seicentesco feels like stepping into someone’s beautifully restored 17th-century home — which, honestly, is probably exactly what it used to be. The entrance on Via Pallone doesn’t scream “hotel” from the outside, but that’s part of its charm. You’re literally in the heart of Verona’s historic center, and I mean that quite literally — you can practically touch the ancient Roman walls from the front door. This four-star boutique property has that intimate feel you just can’t get at the big chain hotels.

The Perfect Location

Here’s what I love about the location — you’re a three-minute walk from Piazza delle Erbe, but tucked away on a quieter street that actually lets you sleep at night. The Città Antica neighborhood is where locals still do their shopping, so you’ll find yourself grabbing morning coffee alongside Veronese residents rather than tour groups. Juliet’s balcony is practically around the corner (though honestly, it’s a bit of a tourist trap), but more importantly, you’re close to some fantastic family-run trattorias that most visitors never discover.

The Room Experience

My room had these gorgeous exposed beams and original frescoed ceilings that made me feel like I was staying in a Renaissance painting. The modern amenities are thoughtfully integrated — you get excellent Wi-Fi and contemporary bathrooms without losing that historic character. The beds are genuinely comfortable, and the windows actually open (a small thing, but you’d be surprised how many hotels seal you in). What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, despite being so central — the thick old walls really do their job.

Daily Rhythms

Breakfast happens in this lovely stone-walled space that feels more like a friend’s dining room than a hotel restaurant. It’s not a huge buffet spread, but everything they do serve is quality — proper Italian coffee, fresh pastries from a local bakery, and they’ll make you eggs however you like them. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience, which isn’t always a given in tourist-heavy Verona. They gave me excellent recommendations for dinner spots that weren’t in any guidebook I’d seen.

Why Guests Love It

You know what really sets this place apart? It’s that perfect balance between historic charm and modern comfort that so many hotels get wrong. Couples especially seem to fall for this place — and I can see why, given that romantic Verona setting and the intimate scale of everything. The location score speaks for itself, but it’s not just about being central — it’s about being in the right part of the center, where you feel connected to the real city rather than just the tourist version. If you want to experience Verona like you’re temporarily living there rather than just passing through, this is your spot.

A lovely historical property in a great location. Very clear and useful instructions for gaining access including details of where luggage can be left.

  • Elena from Denmark – 14 January 2025 (9/10)

It was wonderful location and very nice old villa. And the design of the flat was great!

What could be improved: Too hard matrasses at the beds.

  • Marisa from United States – 3 January 2025 (9/10)

  • Kathleen from United Kingdom – 14 October 2024 (9/10)

Every thing the apartment the host and Verona.

What could be improved: Nothing whatsoever to dislike

  • Rob from United Kingdom – 6 October 2024 (8/10)

The historical nature of the building and apartment was our favourite feature along with modern facilities and proximity to town.

What could be improved: The bedrooms need an upgrade, uneven mattresses, creaky old beds, old fashioned and unironed bedding, one room without reading lamps.

  • Madeleine from Australia – 28 September 2024 (9/10)

This was my favourite place I’ve stayed in so far. Absolutely stunning interior and excellent amenities. Ludo the host was incredible and even sent her mother over to help me when I couldn’t figure out how to operate the stove ( me just being dumb). I can’t say enough good things. Fantastic fantastic location!

    What could be improved: Nothing!

Beautiful property, with everything you need. Would have loved to stay longer. Host was very kind and lots of useful additions when staying for a short time like we were like sugar, oil and coffee pods. The washing machine was very handy too!
