I actually spent way too much time just sitting in the common areas because the atmosphere was so compelling.

What really impressed me though was how the staff seemed to genuinely understand hospitality rather than just going through hotel motions. The check-in process was smooth without being rushed, and they had this way of offering suggestions that felt like genuine recommendations rather than scripted tourist traps. The rooms themselves maintain that same philosophy – period details like original frescoes or antique door handles paired with modern amenities that actually work properly. The bathrooms deserve a mention too, because let’s be honest, that’s where a lot of boutique hotels fall apart trying to squeeze contemporary plumbing into centuries-old spaces. Here, they’ve figured it out without compromising either the historical integrity or your ability to take a decent shower. With an 8.9 rating, it’s clear other guests have noticed these details too – that’s the kind of score that comes from consistently getting the small things right rather than just having flashy marketing. If you’re the type of traveler who appreciates staying somewhere with actual character and stories in the walls, rather than just a place to sleep between tourist activities, this is definitely worth considering.

  This was my favourite place I’ve stayed in so far. Absolutely stunning interior and excellent amenities. Ludo the host was incredible and even sent her mother over to help me when I couldn’t figure out how to operate the stove ( me just being dumb). I can’t say enough good things.   Beautiful property, with everything you need. Would have loved to stay longer. Host was very kind and lots of useful additions when staying for a short time like we were like sugar, oil and coffee pods. The washing machine was very handy too!
