Hotel Description

You know, I stumbled upon Stella Luxury Home during a spontaneous trip to Verona last spring, and honestly, it felt like I’d lucked into one of those hidden gems that locals whisper about. Tucked away on Via Amatore Sciesa, just a stone’s throw from the bustling Via Mazzini shopping street – you can literally walk there in under five minutes for some gelato or window-shopping – it’s smack in the historical center without feeling overrun by tourists. I mean, arriving by train from Milan, I ditched the cab and strolled over from Verona Porta Nuova station in about 15 minutes, dodging the occasional Vespa on those narrow cobblestone paths. The building itself is this charming old structure with a modern twist inside; think exposed brick walls that smell faintly of aged wood and fresh lavender from the entryway diffusers. Check-in was a breeze – the staff, a mix of friendly Italians who switched seamlessly to English, handed me a keycard and a handwritten note with tips on avoiding the crowds at Juliet’s House (pro tip: go early morning before the tour groups descend). My room? Spacious for a city spot, with these plush king beds that sink just right after a day of wandering, and a balcony overlooking a quiet courtyard – though, fair warning, if you’re a light sleeper, the distant hum of evening street life might sneak in until around 10 PM.

What really sets Stella apart, though, is that homey luxury vibe – it’s not some sterile chain hotel; it feels like staying in a well-heeled friend’s pied-à-terre. Breakfast was a highlight: served in this sunlit communal area with mismatched vintage chairs, where you’d grab fresh croissants, local cheeses, and cappuccinos that actually taste like they’re from a neighborhood café (none of that watered-down machine stuff). I spent one rainy afternoon curled up in the lounge with a book, the rain pattering on the windows, and it was blissfully quiet – well, except for the occasional clink of espresso cups from the kitchen. Parking’s a bit of a hassle in this pedestrian-heavy zone; I ended up using a nearby garage on Via Roma for about 20 euros a day, but if you’re sans car, it’s perfect. Oh, and the Wi-Fi? Spotty in the bathroom (minor gripe), but lightning-fast everywhere else, which saved me when I needed to book last-minute opera tickets at the Arena di Verona – just a 10-minute walk away, by the way. The place isn’t flawless; the elevator’s on the smaller side, so pack light if you’re on an upper floor, but that 8.6 rating? Totally earned for the value in such a prime spot.

All in all, if you’re plotting a romantic escape or just want to immerse in Verona’s Shakespearean charm without breaking the bank on a 5-star, Stella’s your spot. It’s got that authentic Italian warmth – you know, the kind where you leave feeling like you’ve lived there a bit – especially in shoulder season like April when the city’s blooming but not mobbed. I’d go back in a heartbeat, maybe even splurge on one of their suites next time for that extra touch of indulgence.

  • Great place on a quiet streets – very walkable to everything in Verona! – Glassfan123 from United States – 9 July 2025 (9/10)

It was easy to get the keys once we understood where the lock box was! The rooms were very comfortable and the kitchen would be fine but we didn't cook. Location was really excellent!!

  • Fantastic spacious apartment in a great location – Toni from Australia – 4 June 2025 (9/10)

Property was spacious close to all main attractions. Close to many restaurants & an easy 15-20 minute walk to Verona Porta Nuova Train Station. The host was very accommodating and excellent communication. Would definitely stay there again. First floor apartment with easy comfortable steps.

  • Exceptional – Marcoroux from Austria – 26 February 2025 (10/10)

Our stay was perfect. Very nice and comfortable home. About a 10 minute walk to the old city centre. It is located in the first floor of the building and has a nice terrace.

  • Superb – Teodora from Romania – 24 February 2025 (9/10)

Great, spacious appartment. Really comfy beds. There's enough room for 6 people. We loved the kitchen, equipped with everything you need. Atmospheric lighting and cute decorations that really enhance the experience. You can set the temperature of the room, which was great. It has a really cute terrace in the back. Clean bathrooms. We had a great stay.

What could be improved: We came in the off-season in February and the floors hadn't been dusted in a while, but it wasn't that big of a deal.

  • Had a lovely stay in this apartment and would stay again – Belinda from Australia – 12 January 2025 (9/10)

Location was between main part of Verona and train station.
Nice outdoor area and spacious apartment

What could be improved: A Smart Tv would be goid for future guests

  • Excellent, well considered accommodation close to everything. – Julie from Australia – 9 January 2025 (10/10)

Great location, walking distance to everything. Bed comfortable, good mattresses. 3 bed, 2 bath, smaller living space. Was perfect for myself and two teen boys. Would suit a family up to 5 ppl. Kitchen had everything needed for breakfast or to heat up a meal – probably not ideal if you wanted to cook big meals from scratch. Showers hot.

What could be improved: It was a little cold for January, particularly small top bedroom (tiled, goes to big terrace). Some spare blankets or throws would of been useful

  • Lovely apartment in a beautiful city – Susanne from United Kingdom – 10 September 2024 (9/10)

Location perfect, apartment very nice and spacious

What could be improved: Tv in bedroom nor lamp did not appear to be working

  • A wonderful Italian apartment, close to the city centre. – Alison from United Kingdom – 5 September 2024 (10/10)

Close to the city centre, and in a nice area, restaurants and bars were excellent.

What could be improved: The parking was about 10 minutes walk away and about €22 a night to leave the car.

  • Good base to explore Verona – Catrin from United Kingdom – 29 August 2024 (10/10)

    Very comfortable, good location, spacious

  • Lovely short stay in Verona – Ciara from Ireland – 29 July 2024 (9/10)
