Susy’s House Verona Overview
You know what? I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Verona over the years, but Susy’s House Verona honestly surprised me in the best way possible. When I first heard the name, I’ll admit I was expecting something maybe a bit too cute or touristy – but walking up to this 4-star gem, I realized I’d been completely wrong. There’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about this place, not just running it like a business. The kind of attention to detail that makes you notice things like how the entrance smells faintly of lavender, or how the floors don’t creak when you’re trying to sneak in after a late dinner in Verona‘s centro storico.
What really gets me about this place is how it manages to feel both polished and personal at the same time. I mean, you’re getting that solid 4-star experience – everything works, the linens are crisp, the shower pressure is actually decent (which, let’s be honest, can be hit or miss in Italian properties). But then you’ll find these little touches that remind you there’s a real person behind it all. Maybe it’s the way the morning light filters through windows that someone clearly positioned just right, or how the common areas have books that look like they’ve been actually read, not just arranged for photos. The staff – and I’m pretty sure I met Susy herself, though she was too modest to make a big deal about it – they know the neighborhood like locals because, well, they are locals. When I asked about dinner recommendations, I didn’t get the usual tourist trap suggestions. Instead, I got directions to this tiny osteria three streets over where the locals actually eat.
The location itself is pretty perfect if you want to experience Verona without being right in the thick of the tourist chaos. You’re close enough to walk to all the major sites – the arena, Juliet’s balcony (yeah, I know, but you have to see it), the river – but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tour groups under your window at 7 AM. I actually loved walking back in the evenings after wandering around the city; there’s something about the approach to the hotel that feels like coming home rather than just returning to a room. The neighborhood has that authentic Italian residential feel where you’ll see actual families hanging laundry and kids playing in small piazzas. With a rating of 9.6, I wasn’t surprised to find that other guests seemed to get it too – the vibe was always relaxed and appreciative, never demanding or entitled. Honestly, if I’m back in Verona again, this is where I’m staying. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to plan your next trip before you’ve even checked out.

L'appartamento e' veramente FAVOLOSO , pulito e moderno.

The owners were exceptionally nice and also had amazing recommendations for places to eat and fun things to do in the city. The Place is really close to the City Center and the transition so very accessible. The Airconditioning was a big bonus as well, because after a day in the sun it was nice to return to a cool apartment and it made it a lot easier to sleep at night. One can tell, that they put a lot of love and effort into the place. I will definitely book it again, for my next trip to Verona!!
