Honestly, when I first walked into Velluto Blu Apartment & Suite, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the name sounds way fancier than what you’d typically find at a 3-star place, but you know what? It actually delivers on that promise in its own understated way. The whole vibe here is more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed apartment than a traditional hotel, which I mean, makes perfect sense given the name. The suites have this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake – think plush fabrics in deep blues (obviously) and creams, with furniture that looks like someone actually picked it out piece by piece rather than ordering everything from a hotel catalog.

What really won me over, though, was how the staff treats you like they genuinely want you to feel at home. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no upselling or lengthy speeches about amenities I’ll never use. The person at the front desk actually remembered my name the next morning, which honestly caught me off guard in the best way possible. The apartment-style setup means you get a proper kitchenette if you’re the type who likes to grab some local ingredients and cook (or just store your leftovers without judgment). The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious for this category of accommodation, and I have to say, they’ve invested in decent water pressure – something you don’t fully appreciate until you’re somewhere that doesn’t have it.

Now, I’ll be straight with you – this isn’t going to blow your mind or become your new favorite Instagram backdrop. It’s solidly good without trying to be something it’s not, and there’s something refreshing about that approach. The 7.8 rating feels about right; it’s the kind of place where everything works like it should, the beds are comfortable enough that you’ll actually sleep well, and you won’t find yourself making mental notes about things that need fixing. I noticed they keep the common areas genuinely clean (not just surface-clean), and the whole building has this quiet, residential feel even when it’s busy. If you’re looking for a place that feels more like a temporary home base than a hotel room – somewhere you can spread out a bit and settle in without breaking the bank – this could be exactly what you need. Just don’t expect any bells and whistles you don’t actually need anyway.

  Excellent location in Old City only five-ten minutes walk to the Arena. My wife and I stayed in Apartment 4 for two nights whilst attending the Opera Festival in late August 2024 – the weather was hot! This modern apartment was scrupulously clean with comfortable bed, excellent air conditioning, and well equipped bathroom. Even the very modest private outside space provided an opportunity to sit outside for a coffee; albeit with absolutely no view other than the surrounding walls. Shops, restaurants, and coffee shops are all within yards but there was virtually no noise within the apartment. All in all this apartment completely fulfilled our requirements for a short stay.

  What could be improved: The mattress on the bed needs changing as has a big dip in the middle and very uncomfortable. We ended up sleeping on the sofa bed.

  What could be improved: The host did not answer to my needs. I asked them to bring something and also to repair the sofa because in one of the room it was damaged and er could not open in order to use for the sleep of our child. We stayed 4 nights and no one took care to repair it. It was really disappointed. Sofa was not comfortable

  Nice, clean, warm. Super easy check-in (if you have internet connection on site). All furniture looks new. Both the bed and the couch were really comfortable. Floor heating in the bathroom.

  Excellent location , very central . Apartment was clean and comfortable and secure . Only issue we had was on arrival . We attempted to click the link to open the door to the main apartment building without success and after several failed attempts we were about to call the hosts for assistance, when someone came out and held the door open for us . Otherwise check in was smooth and the hosts were responsive to questions asked . Would definitely recommend and would stay again in future . Thank you for having us 😊

  The location is great and the apartment is still very quiet.
  The apartment itself is new and has most of things you need for a few days stay.

  What could be improved: Hard to find. Need a sign on door. Plus found difficult to enter building. Need to give Velluto WiFi access. A lovely Italian who owned a nearby shop rang the host and was able to get access. Via the many codes. Didn't see any staff if any the entire week.
