Velvet Apartment Overview
First Impressions
When I first walked up to Velvet Apartment on Via Bassone, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from the name — it sounds more like a trendy cocktail bar than a place to stay. But this four-star property in Verona really surprised me in the best way. The building has this understated elegance that fits perfectly into the neighborhood, and you immediately get the sense that someone put real thought into every detail here.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re actually in a proper Veronese neighborhood, not stuck in some touristy bubble. Via Bassone feels authentic, with locals going about their daily business, but you’re still close enough to walk to the main sights without your feet falling off. The parking situation is honestly a game-changer if you’re driving — finding free parking in Italian cities can be a nightmare, so having it right on-site takes away that stress completely. I mean, couples seem to absolutely love this place (the ratings don’t lie), and I can see why — it’s got that romantic, residential vibe without being isolated.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup works really well here — you get more space than a typical hotel room, which makes all the difference when you’re staying for more than just a night or two. What struck me was how they’ve managed to make it feel both modern and cozy at the same time. The kitchen area is actually functional (not just for show like some places), so you can grab groceries from the local market and make yourself a proper breakfast or late-night snack. The whole place has this warm, lived-in quality that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile.
Why It Works So Well
You know what really sets this place apart? It’s that sweet spot between having your own space and still getting that hotel-level attention to detail. The location rating of 9.2 from recent guests isn’t just a number — when you’re here, you realize how perfectly positioned it is for exploring Verona without dealing with the chaos of the city center. The staff clearly knows what they’re doing, and there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels more like borrowing a friend’s really nice place than checking into a generic hotel.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
After spending time here, I totally understand why this place has such a strong reputation with couples — there’s something inherently romantic about having your own little corner of Verona to come back to each evening. The combination of that excellent location, the free parking (seriously, this matters more than you think), and the apartment-style setup creates this perfect storm of convenience and charm. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself planning your next trip back before you’ve even checked out, which honestly says everything you need to know.

Appartamento stupendo, pulito, funzionale. Marco è gentilissimo, una persona davvero piacevole. La posizione è ottima, sia per Verona che per Gardaland che per il parco naturale. Consigliatissimo!
What could be improved: Nulla, tutto ottimo.
