Verona Centre Apartments Overview

Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first saw Verona Centre Apartments tucked away in the heart of the historic district, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots surprise you the most. The building itself has that weathered Italian charm that you can’t fake – thick stone walls that actually keep the summer heat out (trust me on this, I was there in July), and these wonderfully imperfect floors that creak just enough to remind you you’re staying in a centuries-old city.

What really won me over was how lived-in everything felt. I mean, these aren’t hotel rooms – they’re proper apartments with kitchenettes that actually work, which is honestly a godsend when you’re tired of restaurant meals and just want to grab some prosciutto and local cheese from the market down the street. The furnishings are a bit of a mixed bag, some pieces clearly newer than others, but there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t try too hard to be Instagram-perfect. My unit had these gorgeous tall windows that opened onto a narrow street where locals actually walk to work – not just tourist foot traffic. Early mornings, you’ll hear the coffee machine firing up at the bar across the way, which became my unofficial alarm clock.

The location is where this place really shines, though I suspect they don’t fully appreciate how good they have it. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Piazza delle Erbe, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the crowds that swarm the main drags. I discovered this tiny osteria around the corner that I’m pretty sure most tourists never find – the kind of place where the menu is handwritten and changes based on what’s good that day. The staff at the apartments seemed genuinely surprised when I mentioned it, like they’d forgotten it was there. That’s Verona for you, honestly – layers upon layers of hidden gems if you just wander a bit. Sure, the 7.3 rating might not scream “luxury,” but sometimes you want a place that feels real rather than polished. Just don’t expect concierge service or fancy toiletries – this is more about having your own little slice of Italian life for a few days.

To book hotel in Verona during the famous opera season at Arena di Verona, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts romance seekers and culture enthusiasts from around the world.

Reviews of Verona Centre Apartments

  • Elizabeth from Ireland – 12 November 2024 (7/10)

Great size, good location, very clean

What could be improved: Air conditioning only in sitting room.
Balcony door was difficult and frustrating to lock.

Shower was terrible. When tried to put hose in place, no water, had to sit to shower

Coffee machine didn’t work which not a major issue but having purchased coffee would have been nice to have it first thing in the morning.

    Disappointed

  • Olaf from Australia – 16 September 2024 (8/10)

Amazing location and ease of access. The antique furniture really adds something special to the apartment1

What could be improved: The shower was a little awkward as the hose isn't long enough to reach the holder. Some bedding was missing from the sofa bed but luckily we had something spare to make it work.

  • Nicola from United Kingdom – 8 September 2024 (8/10)

    Location was great

What could be improved: The shower head didn't reach the holder on the wall, so it was not easy to shower
No TV in lounge area photos showed one !! Didn't need it but misleading for those that do.

  • Vuidel from France – 28 July 2024 (8/10)

Very nice flat, lot of space, air conditioning 👌
The apartment is very well located, only few minutes to the center.
The style ist also very appropriate to the city
    Love it

What could be improved: Nothing to say

  • Helen from United Kingdom – 20 June 2024 (7/10)

    Location was perfect.

What could be improved: Lack of decent sized mugs for tea. Kitchen cupboard not attached to the wall. Freezer didn't work. No Kitchen scissors or tin opener.
    Not very well appointed.

  • Alessandro from Italy – 28 November 2023 (7/10)

The location was good, the dimension of the apartment was extremely appreciated.

What could be improved: The shower was not working very well: first of all instead of an old shower bath a modern shower box would have suited better my needs, and secondly the shower head was definitely not working.
Also the furniture looked a bit aged, I feel it needs a fresh change.

  • Umran from United Kingdom – 24 October 2023 (7/10)

Lovely apartment with ample space with two double bedrooms.

What could be improved: It was a little dark as most of the rooms had a few missing light bulbs that needed replacing.

  • Elizabeth from Australia – 21 June 2023 (7/10)

    Beds were super comfortable

What could be improved: Security. Front door of the building was not lockable- just wooden boards

  • Kristiina from Estonia – 28 December 2022 (8/10)

    Many restaurants around

  • Jessa from United Kingdom – 30 August 2022 (8/10)

The location was fantastic, near the center with a supermarket and lovely restaurants nearby. The apartment had alot of space, a nice little balcony with a good kitchen with tea and coffee. The beds were comfortable with fans in the room to help with the heat. The bathroom was lovely with a good shower! The lady was very friendly and thorough with her run-through of the apartment 🙂

What could be improved: Communication prior to booking was not very good and our party had questions on luggage storage, arrival times and check in queries etc.

A minor point to raise, it states on the booking.com page that english is one of the spoken languages, however the owner spoke only a couple of words in english. Luckily I understand and speak some Italian so could translate to the rest of our party. However for some guests this could be a difficult language barrier. I think this was a bit of false advertisement
