Verona Centro Piazza Erbe Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Verona Centro Piazza Erbe? I walked in expecting just another decent city center hotel, but honestly, the location alone makes this place something special. I mean, you’re literally steps away from Piazza delle Erbe – and when I say steps, I’m talking maybe a two-minute stroll to one of the most gorgeous market squares in northern Italy. The morning light hitting those medieval buildings while vendors set up their stalls… it’s the kind of scene that makes you feel like you stumbled into a Renaissance painting.

The hotel itself has this understated elegance that really works in Verona. It’s a solid 4-star property, but what impressed me most was how the staff seemed to actually know the city – not just the tourist handbook version, but the real deal. They pointed me toward this tiny osteria tucked behind Via Cappello that I never would’ve found on my own, and suggested the best times to visit Juliet’s balcony when it’s not swarming with selfie sticks (early morning or late afternoon, by the way). The rooms are comfortable without being flashy – clean lines, good lighting, and honestly, the beds are fantastic. I’m usually a light sleeper, but despite being right in the historic center, the windows do a surprisingly good job keeping the street noise down.

What really sets this place apart though is how it feels like you’re staying in the heart of Verona rather than just visiting it. You’ll hear the church bells marking the hours, catch glimpses of locals doing their evening passeggiata from your window, and – this is key – you can walk to everything that matters. Arena di Verona for opera season? Five minutes. The river and Castelvecchio? Maybe ten minutes of pleasant walking through those narrow stone streets. I stayed here during late spring, and the whole area comes alive in the evenings when the restaurants spill out onto the cobblestones and you can hear conversations mixing with clinking glasses. Sure, parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving (most of the old center is restricted), but the hotel staff helped sort that out without any drama. The 9.0 rating makes complete sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it nails what actually matters when you’re exploring a city like Verona.

Reviews of Verona Centro Piazza Erbe

  • Soriano from Austria – 22 February 2025 (8/10)

I love that it's so close to almost everywhere you needed to see and explore.

What could be improved: Just had a confusion with the exact location of the apartment. The information needed should have been sent a day before our stay. Other than that our stay was great!

  • Lam from Australia – 3 February 2025 (9/10)

Host was communicative. We could drop our bags/check in early. Very clean and tastefully furnished. Location very good – being right in the town centre meant easy access to everything and we could return for rest breaks easily.

What could be improved: As others have mentioned, access to the shower and loft area may be tricky for those with mobility issues as they are a potential falls hazard. The wooden floor makes the split levels blend in visually. Exercise caution!

  • Matovic from Slovenia – 2 November 2024 (9/10)

Perfect location and nice & clean apartment.

  • Alison from United Kingdom – 6 October 2024 (9/10)

Arrived to a complimentary pack of milk, juice, cereal and more which was very welcomed as we arrived after the shops had closed.
Great location. Really clean. Good bed and linens.

What could be improved: We didn’t realise the water wasn’t on so woke to cold water. Never was very warm water so uncomfortable shower particularly to wash a females hair.
Wouldn’t have wanted to be too much older to get in and out of the shower. Other guests had to walk through my bedroom to get to the bathroom. Didn’t matter for us as with our daughter but might for others.

  • Jelmer from Netherlands – 19 September 2024 (9/10)

The location of the apartment is amazing, it's right in the city center next to the most touristy square of the city. On and around the square you'll find amazing dining options, a market place and some great sights to see.
Also, the owner can provide many extra's like a wine tasting or a surprise package for when you arrive.
Lastly, the owner is very helpful, they helped us find a parking spot, which was a challenge for us since we're not from Italy.

What could be improved: The only thing I regret is not staying longer.

  • Ristic from Serbia – 25 July 2024 (9/10)

The location is very good. The apartment was clean and communication with the host was nice.

    LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
The location of this loft is amazing! You can walk in the heart of Verona just by going downstairs.
The apartment was clean and a basic breakfast was provided.
    The communication was great!
The apartment is also pet friendly if you’re travelling with your pet.

What could be improved: This was not a huge problem for us, but as we already read in other comments, the bathroom is in the master bedroom. So, if wasn’t that easy. But for a short stay was ok.
If you’re travelling with an elderly person, the bathtub is not suitable for elderly people.

  • Fredrik from Sweden – 11 July 2024 (9/10)

The location in Verona is very good. One step out from the door and your're in the city. The apartment had all we needed for our time in Verona. Thank you for the breakfast in kitchen, the smooth check-in and communication the the host was easy and nice. We will stay here next time in Verona.
