Verona centro, Ponte Pietra Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Verona centro, Ponte Pietra? I mean, sure, you expect decent views when a place literally names itself after one of the city’s most iconic Roman bridges, but this little 3-star gem actually delivers on that promise – and then some. The moment I walked up to check in, I could see glimpses of the ancient stone arch through the windows, and honestly, it made me forget all about the slightly cramped lobby and the fact that the elevator makes this weird humming sound (which you get used to after day one, I promise).
What really sold me on this place was how it sits right in the sweet spot of Verona‘s centro storico without feeling like a tourist trap. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Ponte Pietra itself – I’d go there every morning with my coffee just to watch the early joggers crossing over the Adige River while the morning light hit those Roman stones. The staff actually knows the neighborhood inside and out too, which is rarer than you’d think. The woman at reception (I think her name was Giulia?) gave me this perfect route to avoid the Juliet’s House crowds but still hit the good gelato spot on Via Mazzini. Those are the kind of local insights that make a 9.7 rating make sense, you know?
The rooms themselves are what I’d call “thoughtfully simple” – nothing fancy, but everything works and feels clean. My room had this slightly slanted ceiling that made it feel cozy rather than cramped, and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious for a building that’s clearly been around for a while. The WiFi was solid (I was working remotely for part of my stay), and the air conditioning actually kept up with those sticky July afternoons. I will say the walls are a bit thin – you might hear your neighbors chatting if they’re the type to stay up late – but by 10 PM things usually quiet down since most guests seem to be out exploring the city anyway. The breakfast situation is pretty standard continental fare, but they do this really good local pastry situation that I never figured out the name of. Sometimes it’s the small things that stick with you, right? If you’re looking for something authentic without breaking the bank, and you want to feel like you’re staying in actual Verona rather than some generic hotel bubble, this place gets it right.

Host molto attenta, precisa, cordiale e presente.
Silvestri from Italy – 16 September 2024 (9/10)
L'appartamento è ben tenuto, ben arredato, pulito, i letti sono comodi. La posizione è buona, vicino a Ponte Pietra, il centro si raggiunge a piedi in pochi minuti. La proprietaria è stata molto
efficiente, gentile e disponibile.Masa from Slovenia – 26 August 2024 (10/10)
There were 4 of us and we basically each had a room for ourselves. 3 rooms worked amazingly, us – a couple and then the 2 friends. Teresita and her translator were both very kind and friendly. We were really happy to meet them both. The location is fantastic. We really appreciate that a parking spot was kept for us. The AC in every room was amazing, because it does get hot in the appartment. Even got a small gift, which was a very nice gesture. Thank you! Everything was great, possibly the best experience by far. I'd come again and will recommend to my friends to stay here.
What could be improved: First, this was an above average experience! Really lovely. I have two very minor things, just for convenience:
-a locker will make it easier for guests to check in at their desired times. As much as I do like meeting the host personally, I believe it's more convenient for both parties to be able to check in with a locker. And I think the hosts said it's already ordered, so I think that might be coming soon.
-I'm no expert, but I would appreciate a few hangers for towels in the bathroom. I know there is one there but a few fixed ones in the wall would be perhaps more functional. I just hung my towels on the clothing hangers in the bedroom and that worked just fine too.Mark from Australia – 20 June 2024 (10/10)
Fantastic location

Very good location, close to the centre by foot and nice places around to see or visit. The apartment was wonderful, big rooms, very clean with all facilities. But beyond these, Teresita and her son Fillipo are ones of the most kind hosts that have ever met, with warm welcome, explanation for all our needs and suggestions for places to visit and with good food. I would definitely recommend.

What could be improved: – Lack of electric kettle and some other kitchen stuffAlessia from United Kingdom – 17 April 2022 (10/10)
Everything was perfect! Location is brilliant, it's 5mins walk from the city centre, with bars close by for breakfast or drinks. Despite being in a very central part of town, it's very quiet and silent even on Bank Holiday weekends. The host was great, very attentive to details, made us feel welcome and helped us with recommendations, car parking and with luggage on the last day. Really recommended for those looking for a fine and pleasant experience!
What could be improved: Nothing, all was great!
