Verona Holidays DOC Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Verona Holidays DOC? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with flashy lobbies or over-the-top amenities, but somehow ends up being exactly what you need. I mean, sure, it’s a 3-star property and you can tell – the rooms are comfortable but not luxurious, the breakfast spread is decent without being Instagram-worthy. But there’s something refreshingly honest about the whole experience that I actually appreciated more than I expected to.

The staff here genuinely seems to care about helping you figure out Verona, which is huge when you’re trying to navigate a city that can feel overwhelming with all its history and tourist crowds. They’ll actually tell you which restaurants to skip (not just recommend their favorites), and I got some solid advice about timing my visit to Juliet’s balcony to avoid the worst of the tour groups. The rooms themselves are clean and functional – nothing fancy, but the beds are surprisingly comfortable and the bathrooms are updated enough that you’re not dealing with that weird European shower situation where water goes everywhere. I stayed on the third floor and honestly barely heard any street noise, which was a relief since Italian cities can get pretty lively at night.

What I really liked was the location – it’s not right in the thick of the historic center where you’re paying premium prices for everything, but you’re close enough that a fifteen-minute walk gets you to the main sights. There’s a little café around the corner that locals actually use (always a good sign), and the neighborhood has that lived-in feeling where you see people walking their dogs and buying groceries instead of just tourists taking selfies. The 7.6 rating feels about right to me – it’s solidly good without being spectacular, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city anyway. Would I stay here again? Probably yeah, especially if I was looking for something reliable without breaking the bank.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Verona at least two months ahead for major events like opera performances and wine festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular romantic sites.

Reviews of Verona Holidays DOC

  • Mateusz from Poland – 15 August 2024 (8/10)

Spacious, well equipped, clean, close to old part of the town

What could be improved: Lack of air conditioning, very small TV

  • Raul-erik from Finland – 9 July 2024 (9/10)

I would recommend this property especially with family travelling with kids, quiet neighbourhood and old town is really close.

  • Ursa from Slovenia – 30 June 2024 (7/10)

The location is great and the apartment is generally nice. The neighbourhood is great and public parking is nearby.

What could be improved: The apartment would need a small investment to make it much much nicer.
The AC is not working, as well as the water heater (please do not blame it on ESG as nothing else in the apartment shows that you care about the environment). The snacks that are pictured were not available (to be honest there was 1 teabag and 7 coffe capsules) and the kitchen is really porely equipped. This is an apartment with a great potential but now it is just meh.

  • Jozef from Slovenia – 26 June 2024 (7/10)

Location for the price = excellent.
    The apartment was clean.
Car parking is in the nearby garage (20eur for a day).

What could be improved: For me the bed was too much soft.
Maybe a tea kettle and paper towels in the kitchen.

  • Juul from Netherlands – 14 June 2024 (7/10)

Perfect location just a few minutes by foot from the city centre but in an accessible area.

What could be improved: The kitchen is outdated and the apartment was not the cleanest.

  • Larry from Ireland – 31 May 2024 (8/10)

    Location

What could be improved: No kettle toilet wasn't bolted to the floor and no bottle opener

  • Hari from France – 31 August 2023 (8/10)

Great Location, Clean and comfortable apartment

What could be improved: Kitchen requires some more basic utensils which we found missing

  • Paula from Germany – 28 August 2023 (8/10)

Good location and comfortable apartment. The place was clean and we were answered immediately whenever we spoke to the owner. When we arrived there was coffee and some snacks left, which makes the stay more pleasant.

What could be improved: As it wasn't possible to turn on the air conditioning, I wouldn't recommend staying during the summer. It was very hot even with the small fans in the room.

  • Tudor from Romania – 8 June 2023 (8/10)

The host was great, we asked to check in 1 hour before the schedule and they made it possible.
Also, in the day we left it was raining very heavy and let us stay in the apartment after the check out hour.
    Thanks a lot!
