I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Verona Liberty Flats – Torricelle e Adige, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The “Liberty Flats” part had me thinking it might be some sort of themed accommodation, but actually, it’s named after the Liberty style architecture you’ll find scattered around this part of Verona. What really caught my attention, though, is the location reference in the name – Torricelle e Adige basically tells you everything you need to know about why this place is special.

You know what I love about staying here? You’re positioned between two of Verona’s most distinctive features – the Torricelle hills that rise up on one side (honestly, the views from certain rooms are ridiculous) and the Adige River that curves through the city on the other. I mean, most tourists stick to the centro storico around Juliet’s balcony and the Arena, but staying in this area gives you this perfect balance of being close enough to walk to the main sights while feeling like you’ve discovered something the tour groups haven’t figured out yet. The morning walk along the Adige is particularly lovely – there’s this peaceful stretch where locals jog and walk their dogs, and you can actually hear the water flowing instead of just traffic noise.

The flats themselves have that comfortable, lived-in feeling that’s way better than sterile hotel rooms. I stayed during late spring, and honestly, opening the windows to let in that fresh air from the hills made such a difference – you get these gorgeous cross-breezes that actually cool things down naturally. The 8.6 rating makes perfect sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works properly, it’s clean, and the setup just makes sense for travelers who want to experience Verona like they actually live there for a few days. Plus, you’re close enough to some excellent local trattorias that don’t have English menus – always a good sign. The area gets pretty quiet at night (unlike some of the party zones closer to the university), so you’ll actually get decent sleep before tackling those Roman ruins in the morning.

  What could be improved: Ho richiesto un cambio di lenzuola poiché risultavano macchiate. hanno provveduto a portarmi delle nuove lenzuola ma ho dovuto rifarmi il letto da sola. la mancanza di una federa copri piumino mi sembra poco igienica, come dimostrano le macchie riscontrate sul piumino

  Das Bett war bequem und das Schlafzimmer groß genug, um alle Sachen unterzubringen.
  Die Ausstattung der Küche war okay (IKEA).
  Gute Verkehrsanbindung zum Bahnhof.
  In Laufweite zur Altstadt.
  
  What could be improved: Hier wurde eine Altbauwohnung in 2 Apartments geteilt.
  
  Die Ausstattung ist schick, aber in Details nicht durchdacht. Zum Beispiel:
  Beim Öffnen der Fenster kollidieren diese mit den Gardinenstangen.
  Die Toilette ist direkt hinter der Badezimmertür ohne Freiraum.
  Die Regendusche verteilt das Wasser Richtung Wand statt nach unten auf die Person.
  Am Küchentresen kann man nur beengt zu zweit nebeneinander sitzen.
  Es gibt keinen einzigen Stuhl, auf dem man normal und bequem sitzen kann. Nur Hocker oder Barhocker und ein Mini-Sofa, auf dem nur 1 Person sitzen kann.
  
  Aktuell wird die Wohnung nebenan kernsaniert – es ist sehr laut, sobald die Handwerker kommen.
