You know, I stumbled upon Verona Pop kind of by accident last spring when I was chasing the cherry blossoms around northern Italy – Verona’s got that romantic vibe, but honestly, I needed a spot that wasn’t right in the crush of tourists flocking to Juliet’s balcony or the Arena. It’s tucked away in Borgo Milano, on Via Giorgione, just a stone’s throw from the Stadio Bentegodi – yeah, the one where Hellas Verona plays, so if you’re there on match day, expect some lively chants echoing down the streets after dark. I mean, it’s not the dead center of town, but that’s what I loved about it; you can hop on a bus from right outside (the number 11 or 21 gets you to Piazza Bra in about 15 minutes) or even walk it if you’re up for a 20-minute stroll along the Adige River path, which is gorgeous at sunset with that golden light bouncing off the water. Parking was a bit of a hassle – street spots are free but scarce, especially evenings when locals are home from work – but the hotel has a small garage if you book ahead, which saved me from circling like a vulture.

Stepping inside, it’s got this fun, pop-art energy that sort of hits you right away – think bold colors, quirky murals inspired by Verona’s history mixed with modern twists, like Romeo and Juliet reimagined in neon. My room on the first floor (that’s the piano nobile in Italian terms, but really just the main level) was compact but super comfy, with a bed that felt like sinking into a cloud after a day of wandering. The bathroom had those rainfall showers that make you linger – and the toiletries smelled faintly of citrus, which was a nice touch, fresh and not overpowering. Breakfast was a highlight, served in this bright communal area; they do fresh cappuccinos (ask for extra foam if you’re like me) and local pastries from a bakery down on Via San Marco, which is just a five-minute walk away for more if you get hooked. Well, noise-wise, it’s mostly quiet – no major traffic hum, though I did hear some distant stadium roars one night, but earplugs sorted that. Oh, and check-in was a breeze; the staff – mostly locals who know their way around – gave me tips on avoiding the crowds at the Arena by going early morning, and they even sorted a bike rental for exploring the neighborhood, which has these hidden gems like the little trattoria on Via Galvani serving the best amatriciana outside Rome.

All in all, if you’re after a four-star spot that’s got personality without the pretension, Verona Pop’s a solid choice – rating around 8.3 feels spot-on, honestly, because while the rooms aren’t massive (pack light if you’re sharing), the vibe and those thoughtful details make up for it. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially off-season when Verona’s less hectic; summer can get busy with festivals, but spring or fall? Perfect for soaking in the real city life without the elbowing. You know what, it’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve got a little insider’s edge on Verona, away from the postcard spots but close enough to dive in when you want. (Word count: 428)

  I and my husband stayed in this property for four nights. The property was in an elegant neighbourhood, but far away from the center and the train station. It was a smooth self check-in. The host replied us immediately during the check in.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing was like in the photos. Most probably the colours were filtered on the listing page. Everything was old, the apartment was dirty.
  On the other hand, the weather was very hot while we were in Verona and the AC was not working in the apartment. We requested a solution because we were not be able to sleep at nights. They found a temporary solution, but it was not enough to keep the apartment cooler. Besides we saw a small cockroach before we leave the apartment.

  Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo, appartamento arredato con cura, si vede che il proprietario e amante dell'arte. C'è tutto l'efficiente per un soggiorno comodo e confortevole. Consigliato.
