You know what, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to VERONETTA 52 – honestly, the name just sounds like an address, right? But this little 3-star gem actually surprised me in the best possible way. There’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the place that I really appreciated, especially after staying at some of those overly polished hotels that feel like you’re living inside a catalog.

The location is what really makes this place work, I mean, you’re right in the heart of Verona but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with constant tourist foot traffic outside your window. I loved that I could actually sleep with the windows open – you get those nice evening breezes without the noise that comes with being directly on the main drag. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but honestly, who needs fancy when everything just works? The beds are actually decent (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathrooms are modern enough that you don’t feel like you’re roughing it. What struck me most was how the staff seemed to genuinely care – not in that scripted hotel way, but like they actually wanted you to enjoy your stay. The guy at reception gave me this detailed rundown of which restaurants to hit and which ones to skip, plus he marked up a little map with shortcuts through the old town that I never would have found on my own.

I’ll be honest, it’s not going to blow you away with luxury amenities or anything like that, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The breakfast was solid Italian fare – good coffee, fresh pastries, nothing revolutionary but it gets the job done and tastes like actual food instead of hotel breakfast food, if you know what I mean. The whole place has this lived-in feel that I found really comfortable, like staying at a friend’s apartment rather than some sterile hotel room. For a 3-star place, it’s punching well above its weight – I can see why it’s got such a strong rating. If you’re the type of traveler who values location, genuine hospitality, and good value over flashy extras, this place will definitely work for you. Plus, you’ll have more money left over for all that amazing Veronese wine and food, which honestly is probably a better use of your euros anyway.

  Beliggenheden var super go, det var nem at gå til byen, og man have busstoppested lige nedenfor hoveddøren. Der var sofa/stue at være i, og køkken så men selv kunne lave lidt let mad.

  Der var store nullermænd på 1 sal.
  Der manglede rullegardiner på det ene værelse samt opbevarings møbel.
