Hotel Description
I remember stumbling upon Veronetta Lovely Apartment last spring when I was chasing that perfect Verona getaway – you know, the kind where you’re close enough to the action but not drowning in tourist crowds. Tucked away on Via San Vitale, right in the heart of the Veronetta neighborhood, it’s this charming spot that’s more like crashing at a stylish friend’s place than some impersonal hotel. I arrived by foot from the Ponte Pietra bridge – honestly, it’s just a quick 10-minute stroll across the Adige River from the old town center, passing those ancient stone walls that make you feel like you’ve time-traveled. Parking? Well, it’s a bit of a squeeze in these narrow streets; I ended up leaving my rental at a nearby lot on Via Carducci for about 15 euros a day, but if you’re sans car, it’s a dream – no hassle at all. Check-in was a breeze; the host met me at the door with a warm smile and a quick rundown in broken English (mixed with Italian flair), handing over keys and a map scribbled with insider spots. The building itself has that classic Verona vibe – think weathered brick facades and flower boxes spilling over with geraniums – but inside, it’s surprisingly modern, with high ceilings and big windows that let in that soft, golden afternoon light.
What really won me over, though, was how lived-in and thoughtful the place felt – I mean, it’s rated a solid 9.3 for a reason, but it’s not trying to be flashy. The apartment’s got this cozy setup with a full kitchen (stocked with basics like coffee and olive oil, which saved me on those lazy mornings), a comfy queen bed that actually lets you sleep through the night without creaks, and a bathroom that’s spotless but compact – fair warning, the shower’s got great pressure, but it’s a tad tight if you’re over six feet. I loved opening the windows to the sounds of church bells from Santa Maria in Organo nearby, or catching whiffs of fresh bread from the bakery on Via XX Settembre just around the corner. It’s perfect for wandering; you’re steps from the Teatro Romano ruins – I caught a sunset there that was pure magic – and if you head east, you’re at the Giardino Giusti gardens in no time, especially gorgeous in April when everything’s blooming. Noise-wise, it’s pretty quiet after 10 p.m., even during the busier summer months, though you might hear the occasional scooter zipping by. One minor gripe? The Wi-Fi can be spotty during peak hours, but hey, that’s Verona for you – forces you to unplug and explore.
All in all, if you’re the type who wants to feel like a local in Verona without sacrificing comfort, this is your spot. It’s got that 4-star polish in a neighborhood that’s authentic and artsy – think university vibes with street art and hole-in-the-wall trattorias serving the best amatriciana. I spent my days meandering to Juliet’s House (a 15-minute walk) or hopping a bus to the Arena for opera season, and evenings chilling on the balcony with a glass of Valpolicella from the market on Piazza Isolo. Honestly, it’s the kind of place that makes you extend your stay – I did, by two nights – because it just feels right. If Verona’s on your list, skip the chain hotels and go for this gem; you’ll thank me when you’re sipping espresso on your own little terrace, watching the world go by.

Very functional apartment which suited our purposes
It was great! – Costin from Romania – 29 April 2025 (10/10)
Our host was extremely friendly and helpful. He welcomed us upon arrival and has given us useful information about the transport, travel tips and places to eat. We communicated a lot on whatsapp. The apartment is on the ground floor, so the access with luggage was smooth and easy. The bed and the sofa were comfortable. The bedroom has direct access to a nice backyard, you can have breakfast outside. The location is perfect, just in the middle, between Vescovo Train Station and the city center. You can find nearby lots of good places to eat.
Exceptional – Nathalie from United Kingdom – 24 February 2025 (10/10)
We couldn’t speak more highly of the apartment and the communication from Giovanni. We highly recommend and would absolutely stay again!
Superb – Encarna from Spain – 24 November 2024 (9/10)

Had a great stay. – Philip from Canada – 11 November 2024 (8/10)
The property was very clean, location convenient, spacious with character. Appreciated the accessibility of the host when we had questions.
What could be improved: The shower was too small and somewhat challenging for a tall person. The lighting could be improved- it’s a little stark in th e living room. There is only a small mirror in the hall and way too high. A full length mirror would be nice. Suggest putting a floor mat at the entrance inside.Give Verona a Crack. You'll be Glad You Did. – Matthew from Australia – 14 October 2024 (9/10)
The 500 year old villa, with it's own courtyard and a 17th century well. The spaciousness of the villa. The close proximity to everywhere of significance was in relative walking distance. Catching an Uber was ridiculously expensive no matter where we ventured.
What could be improved: It was a tourist mecca. I was expecting it to be a little less hectic.Excellent apartment and host. – Martin from United Kingdom – 20 June 2024 (10/10)
I would highly recommend this apartment for a stay in Verona. The apartment was comfortable, cool in the heat and well positioned for all the attractions. Giovanni was an excellent host and went out of his way to support us as guests. I would certainly stay here again. Thank you Giovanni.
What could be improved: No issues as far as my wife and I were concerned.Fabulous – Bogdan from Romania – 1 June 2024 (10/10)
This was a great stay for us, a family of four. The apartment is quite big, well equipped (washing machine, dishwasher, stove, coffee machine). The apartment was on the ground floor and we liked that we had the bedroom door right next to the car (parked in the inner courtyard) and inner courtyard itself. We actually took our morning coffee and breakfast outside almost every morning and we loved it. It's about a 10 minute walk to the old city main attractions, so really close. The host was extremely helpful, communication was top class. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Verona.
we had a really fantastic stay at Verona lovely apartment. Giovanni is extremely helpful and is an excellent host💔 – Mary from Ireland – 2 May 2024 (8/10)
