Veronetta The Cellar Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Veronetta The Cellar? The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there – this place has this intimate, underground vibe that feels like you’ve discovered some hidden local secret. I mean, it’s not literally in a cellar, but there’s something about the atmosphere that’s cozy and tucked-away in the best possible way.
What really works here is how it feels authentically Verona without trying too hard. The staff genuinely seem to care about giving you the real experience of the city, and I picked up more local tips during check-in than I did from most guidebooks. They’re the kind of people who’ll tell you which osteria actually serves the best risotto (spoiler: it’s not the touristy one near the Arena) and when to hit the morning markets before the crowds arrive. The rooms are honestly pretty solid for a 3-star – nothing fancy, but everything works and it’s clean in that European way where you can tell someone actually takes pride in maintaining the place. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, which matters more than you’d think after a day of wandering around cobblestone streets.
Here’s the thing though – this isn’t one of those places where you’re going to get pampered or find Instagram-worthy marble bathrooms. It’s more like staying at a friend’s well-kept apartment, if that friend happened to know exactly what travelers actually need. The location puts you in a spot where you’re close enough to walk to the main sights but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tour groups outside your window at 7 AM. I actually ended up extending my stay an extra night because I realized I was dreading the thought of dealing with a more corporate hotel chain after getting used to the personal touch here. The 7.7 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s going to do exactly what you need it to do, and sometimes that’s honestly better than places that promise the world and deliver stress instead.

Spacious apartment with a well equipped kitchen and new furnishings. Location is very convenient with supermarkets nearby and the centre a short walk away. Potra Vescovo station is nearby for trains towards Venice and regular trains to Porta Nuova for journeys elsewhere.
What could be improved: Internet was a bit slow, may not be suitable for remote working. The internet also doesn't reach downstairs so the smart TV cannot be used (only cable channels). Only other thing to note is that vehicles are a bit noisy, but this is only occasional and not a problem while sleeping.Matt from United Kingdom – 11 November 2024 (8/10)

Ho letteralmente buttato via tanti soldi!India from United Kingdom – 8 July 2024 (8/10)
We loved the location, as it wasn’t too far from the central area, whilst being out of the way of the crowds of people.
The apartment itself was lovely, it looked exactly like the pictures.
What could be improved: The only thing was that we couldn’t work the TV, and the thermostats wouldn’t turn down no matter how many times we tried.Anush from Armenia – 6 July 2024 (7/10)
The location was nice. Apartment looked very interesting, furniture was in good condition
What could be improved: Smell of humidity on the ground floor. Horrible wifi and no blanketsLuisa from Italy – 26 June 2024 (7/10)
Quiet flat, recently renovated, not far from the city center, equipped with all the basic things.
The owner is easy to reach at any time.
What could be improved: The humidity and the smell, especially in the "cellar" downstairs.
