I remember pulling up to Veroniamo after a long drive from Lake Garda – you know, that twisty road along the hills that always feels longer than it should. It’s tucked away on Via Tolosetto Farinati degli Uberti in Borgo Trento, this leafy residential neighborhood just across the Adige River from Verona’s old town. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first because it’s on the piano rialzato – basically a raised ground floor, so there’s a short flight of steps to haul your luggage up, but nothing too bad if you’re not overloaded. The street itself is super quiet, lined with those classic Veronese apartment buildings and a few hidden cafes where locals grab their morning espresso. Parking’s a breeze if you snag a spot nearby (though it can get tight in summer when everyone’s flocking to the Arena for opera season), and it’s far enough from the tourist crush that you don’t hear the constant buzz of scooters or crowds – just the occasional church bell from San Giorgio in Braida down the way.

Stepping inside, though, it all clicked – this place feels like a well-kept secret, sort of like staying at a friend’s elegant townhouse rather than some impersonal hotel chain. The rooms are spacious and airy, with these high ceilings and big windows that let in that soft Verona light (I mean, the kind that makes everything look golden in the late afternoon). Mine had a comfy king bed with crisp linens that smelled faintly of lavender – probably from whatever local detergent they use – and a little balcony overlooking a courtyard garden. Breakfast was a highlight, you know what, with fresh pastries from a bakery around the corner on Lungadige San Giorgio, plus prosciutto and cheeses that tasted like they came straight from the Veneto countryside. The staff? Super friendly without being over-the-top; the owner even chatted with me about the best path to walk to Ponte Pietra (it’s about 10 minutes, dodging the joggers along the riverbank). One minor gripe – the Wi-Fi dipped a bit in the evenings when everyone was streaming, but hey, it gave me an excuse to unplug and wander out for gelato at that spot on Via Sottoriva instead.

All in all, if you’re heading to Verona and want something authentic without the hassle of the centro storico’s noise and prices, Veroniamo’s a gem – that 9.7 rating isn’t hype. It’s perfect for couples or solo travelers who appreciate the little things, like how it’s close enough to hit Castelvecchio or Juliet’s House in a quick stroll (15-20 minutes max), but removed enough for a peaceful night’s sleep. I stayed in early fall, when the air’s crisp and the vines are turning, and it felt just right – though I’d avoid peak July if you hate the heat. Trust me, you’ll leave feeling like you actually experienced Verona, not just ticked off the sights.

  The property was exceptionally clean, spacious, and fully equipped with everything we needed—including two bathrooms and easy, free parking. The owner was incredibly communicative and made the check-in process seamless. A few days before our arrival, they reached out and sent us detailed videos of the apartment, along with clear instructions on how to check in and where to find everything we’d need. We were well-prepared and felt at ease upon arrival. They even provided a parking pass, which made parking free and hassle-free. As a thoughtful touch, they left us a bottle of wine and some snacks to enjoy. Overall, it was a smooth and welcoming experience from start to finish.
  
  What could be improved: If I had to mention one thing, it would be that the property is a bit farther from the city center—about a 25-minute walk. However, for us, this was actually a plus. We really enjoyed the walk into town, especially since there were plenty of charming restaurants and pastry shops along the way. While the distance might be something to consider for those who prefer to be right in the heart of the city, we personally found the location peaceful and just right for our stay.

  Andrea welcomed me since I first confirmed the reservation. He is a very nice person, replied quickly to every message, and was thoughtful in everithing I needed. He even tested me everyday to know if I needed anything. Definetely recommend it and will stay there again in my next trips to Verona

  the only negative aspect of our stay is that we could only stay one night :). don't hesitate to book this place. located in a residential neighborhood away from the tourist crowds , yet only 10 minutes walking to the center. the service was impeccable, as were the free gifts upon arrival. you can tell the owner really puts his heart into his business.

  New renovated and well equipped flat! In walking distance is the old city and a lot of nice places to eat. The owner is really nice and takes care of the guest. I really recommend this place….for us, the next trip to Verona will be here!

  Everything was extremely clean and welcoming, parking on the street was easy and free (with a permit from the owner).
  The host was extremely helpful; for instance: I forgot some electronics in the apartment and she immediately shipped it to us. Big thumbs up!!
