The bed was comfy, sheets crisp and fresh-smelling, and there was even a little kitchenette stocked with basics – perfect for whipping up an espresso in the morning without venturing out.

What really won me over, though, was how it felt like a home base for exploring. You’re literally a 10-minute stroll from the Arena di Verona – I caught an opera there one evening, and walking back through the dimly lit alleys, with the faint echo of church bells from Santa Anastasia nearby, was magical. The rooms aren’t huge, mind you; mine was sort of cozy in that European way, with space for a couple but maybe tight for a family – well, unless you book one of the bigger apartments. But the details mattered: thick curtains that blocked out the morning light (a godsend after late nights), reliable Wi-Fi for planning day trips to Lake Garda, and even a small balcony overlooking the courtyard where you could hear birds chirping over the distant hum of scooters on Via Leoni. Noise levels were surprisingly low for the center – no major traffic right outside, though you might catch some chatter from the market on Piazza delle Erbe if the windows are open. I appreciated the self-catering option too; grabbed fresh produce from the vendors on Corso Porta Borsari and made a simple pasta dinner one night – saved a ton compared to eating out every meal.

All in all, if you’re after that authentic Verona experience without the stiff hotel feel, Via Poma is a solid pick – it’s got that 4-star polish with an 8.9 rating that feels earned, not inflated. Sure, the stairs might be a workout if you’ve got heavy bags (no elevator in the older section), but it adds to the character, I think. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially in off-season when the crowds thin out and you can really soak in the city’s rhythm. If Verona’s on your list, this spot lets you live like a local – wandering to Juliet’s House for a laugh or sipping Aperol at a hidden bar on Via Sottoriva – without breaking the bank.   Very secure in a quiet location a few minutes walk from the centre of town. A huge space for two people, great facilities, lovely welcome from host.
  Great to have the blinds to black out windows at night. Really comfortable bed.

  Overall it is a very nice place to stay. During check-in, you are welcomed and briefed by a very nice/polite guy, who also gives you some tips about the city (restaurants/cafes etc.) The room was not tiny, it was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the internet was quite good. The room has a small refrigerator, kettle and espresso machine (and additionally complimentary coffees) which is nice. And there is no need to say it is a quite cheap place when you compare its price with the general ratio in Verona. The location also very convenient, approximately 15 minutes walk, you can reach both the transport services (train station/main bus terminal) which helps you to reach other nice spots like Garda, Vicenza, Venezia etc. easily (if you need) and also the city center. The street where the place was also vey quiet and safe. If I come to Verona again, I would definitely stay in this place again.
  
  What could be improved: Heating system was a little bit tricky (operating it) and noisy when use it in high position. If you are sensitive to the noise and does not have air plugs, operating it in high position might be a problem for you.

  The host was very friendly and helpful, especially with the issue we had with the bathroom door.Spatious room, clean.
  
  What could be improved: WIFI wasn't good at all and it's required to look for attractions, book tickets and relax. Also, the first room we got had a broken bathroom door that wouldn't close. However, after sending the host a couple of videos to prove it's wasn't working, we were offered another room. I guess lucky there was a room available! Also, it takes about 15 minutes on foot to get to the train station or to the city centre.

  We stayed 5 nights with the plan to visit the nearby cities by taking trains and the location of this apt is just prefect! It is about 15 min walk to train and bus station and about 15 min walk to the historic centre. The apt is very clean with expresso machine, kettle and mini fridge, hairdryer and toiletries. ALDI is 10 min walk from the apt and communication with John, the host, is so prompt and helpful that really helped make our stay so very enjoyable.
  
  What could be improved: Would personally prefer a softer and deeper mattress and plumper pillows (they were quite flat).

  It is a modern, clean, and comfortable apartment. A coffee machine, kettle, wine glasses, and water are all provided. The room is decent in size. The host met us at the door to go over everything and provided city maps. It's also less than a 20-minute walk from the train station which is ideal if you're travelling by train.
  
  What could be improved: It was about a 20-minute walk to the old town, and there were few restaurants in the area – but not really an issue as better to eat in the city anyway.

  I had a wonderful stay! The apartment was very modern and spacious, with everything you could need, especially for the girls – there was an iron, hairdryer, and all the essentials. It was clear that a lot of thought went into making sure guests are comfortable. Highly recommended!
