via roma 12 VERONA Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about via roma 12 VERONA, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But sometimes you stumble onto something that just works, you know? This little spot sits right on Via Roma (obviously), and what struck me immediately was how it feels more like staying at someone’s really well-organized relative’s house than a typical hotel. The entrance is understated – I actually walked past it twice the first time because it doesn’t scream “tourist hotel” like so many places do.
What really won me over was the attention to small things that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The room I stayed in had this perfectly positioned reading light that someone clearly thought about, not just slapped on the wall because the fire code required it. The shower pressure was actually decent (which, let’s face it, can be hit or miss in older Italian buildings), and the windows opened properly – I mean really opened, not those tiny tilting things that barely let in air. You can hear some street noise during the day, but honestly, that’s part of being in Verona. The sounds fade by evening anyway, and there’s something nice about hearing actual life happening outside rather than being sealed in some sterile box.
The staff here genuinely seem to care about the place – not in that over-the-top way that feels scripted, but like they’d actually recommend it to their own friends. During my stay, the woman at reception (I think she might have been one of the owners, actually) gave me directions to this little osteria that wasn’t in any guidebook I’d seen. She drew it on a napkin with specific landmarks because, as she put it, “GPS gets confused in the old streets.” She was right on both counts. The location puts you close enough to the main sights that you can walk everywhere important, but far enough from Piazza Bra that you’re not drowning in tour groups every time you step outside. That 9.2 rating makes complete sense once you spend a night or two here – it’s the kind of place where everything just works without any fuss or drama, and honestly, that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to enjoy a city like Verona.
Hotels in Verona offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this medieval gem, with easy access to historic palazzos, charming piazzas, and renowned wine bars.
