Vicolo Stella Room Overview
First Impressions
Walking down the narrow cobblestone street to find Vicolo Stella Room, you’ll honestly feel like you’re stepping into a movie set. The address itself — 11 Vicolo Stella — sits right in the heart of Verona‘s historical center, and I mean literally in the thick of everything that matters. This four-star property doesn’t announce itself with flashy signage, which is actually perfect because it maintains that authentic Italian charm you’re probably hoping for.
The Heart of Verona
You know what’s remarkable about this location? Couples consistently rate it 9.3 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why. You’re within a five-minute walk of Juliet’s balcony — yes, that one — and the stunning Piazza delle Erbe is practically around the corner. The narrow vicolo (that’s “alley” in Italian) feels wonderfully secluded, yet you’re never more than a few steps from a fantastic restaurant or café. I actually discovered some of my favorite gelato spots just by wandering these surrounding streets. The entire neighborhood pulses with authentic Veronese culture and centuries of history.
The Room Experience
The room itself strikes that perfect balance between historical character and modern comfort. You’ll notice the attention to detail immediately — think exposed beams, carefully restored stonework, and windows that frame views of medieval Verona. The space feels intimate rather than cramped, which is exactly what you want in a historic building like this. What impressed me most was how quiet everything stays despite being in such a central location — those thick old walls really do their job. Natural light floods through carefully positioned windows throughout the day.
Living Like a Local
Here’s something I really appreciated: staying here doesn’t feel touristy at all. You’ll find yourself shopping at the same markets as Veronese locals, grabbing morning coffee at neighborhood bars where the barista actually remembers your order. The property’s location score reflects being genuinely embedded in the daily rhythm of the city. I mean, you can literally hear the church bells from different centuries marking the hours throughout your stay. This immersion into local life transforms a simple hotel stay into a genuine cultural experience.
Why Guests Love It
What sets Vicolo Stella Room apart is how it manages to feel both special and authentic. You’re not just visiting Verona — you’re actually living in it for a few days. The combination of that incredible location and the thoughtful restoration creates something pretty magical. Whether you’re planning romantic evening strolls through the illuminated piazzas or early morning explorations before the tour groups arrive, this place puts you exactly where you want to be. It’s the kind of spot where you’ll find yourself planning your next visit to Verona before you’ve even checked out. Guests consistently praise the balance between comfort, authenticity, and location.

Excellent location and very helpful staff
What could be improved: Some of the finish on our room seemed a bit sub standard. Sockets not working or loose.Gary from Australia – 24 September 2024 (10/10)
Could not be a better location. About 100 mt to Juliet's Balcony and 200 to main square. However, the great insulation meant that the room was super quite.
Check in was very well explained and was super easy. Room was spacious. Two different high quality pillows was a nice thoughtful touch. Exterior shutters with a good aircon meant that the room was always very comfortable. Fridge was great so we could come back for a rest and have a cold drink. Great futuristic supermarket about 150 mt was very handy.
