Vieni & Vai a Verona Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Vieni & Vai a Verona? The name literally means “come and go” in Italian, which honestly made me wonder if they were suggesting I shouldn’t stick around too long. But after spending time there, I think it’s more about capturing that perfect balance between having a home base and actually getting out to explore – something a lot of travelers struggle with when they find a place this comfortable.

The thing is, this isn’t your typical hotel setup. It feels more like staying at someone’s really well-organized cousin’s place, if that makes sense. The hosts clearly get that people coming to Verona aren’t just ticking boxes on some generic Italy checklist – they’re here for Shakespeare and ancient Roman ruins, sure, but also for those late afternoon aperitivos and wandering around cobblestone streets that look basically unchanged since medieval times. What I appreciated most was how they’ve managed to create this laid-back atmosphere without being sloppy about the details. Everything works like it should, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out when you’re trying to upload photos, and – this is huge – the beds are actually comfortable, not just Italian-hotel-standard firm.

I mean, that 9.2 rating isn’t just people being nice. The location makes sense once you figure out the neighborhood rhythm. You’re close enough to walk to the main sights without being right in the middle of all the tour group chaos (trust me, Verona gets packed during peak season, especially around Juliet’s balcony). Mornings are pretty quiet, which gives you a head start before the day-trippers arrive from Venice or Milan. The hosts seem to know their stuff about timing too – they’ll casually mention things like “oh, the arena gets crazy around 7 PM on show nights” or point you toward restaurants that locals actually go to, not just the ones with English menus plastered outside. Honestly, staying here feels like you’ve got insider access to someone who’s lived in the city for years and doesn’t mind sharing the good spots. It’s that kind of place where you end up extending your stay because you realize you’ve barely scratched the surface of what Verona has to offer, and you’ve got the perfect base to keep exploring from.

After a very warm welcome by the host on the phone, we found ourselves in a beautifully furnished and cosy apartment. The use of space was amazing – done in a very elegant and original way.
The instructions to the property were clear and detailed, not even the slightest problem getting in.
Alessia has thought of every single detail to make the stay of her guests extraordinary.
If there is a place we could call a "home away from home", this one would be it!

  • A great pad to stay in Verona . – Christopher from Italy – 8 July 2023 (8/10)

Great location and nice and quiet. Nice personal service from the owner. Good to have a small second bathroom for the upper level.

What could be improved: The bedroom in the upper level has only a very small window so in the summer the air conditioning is the only way to provide ventilation.
