Hotel Description

You know, when I first stumbled upon Wallace Luxury Home on Via Marconi in Verona’s historical center, I wasn’t sure what to expect—it’s tucked away on this unassuming street that’s got that classic Italian mix of old stone buildings and the occasional scooter zipping by. But honestly, stepping inside felt like a warm hug after a long day wandering the cobblestones. The place is a 4-star gem, rated a solid 9.1, and it’s not hard to see why. I arrived in the late afternoon during that golden hour when the light filters through the narrow alleys, and the check-in was a breeze—no fuss, just a friendly host who handed over the keys with a quick chat about the best nearby spots for aperitivo. The rooms? Oh man, they’re spacious and done up in this elegant, understated way—think crisp white linens that feel like they’re straight out of a high-end catalog, but with these quirky touches like exposed brick walls that remind you you’re in Verona, not some generic chain. I stayed in one overlooking the courtyard, and the quiet was a godsend after the hustle of Piazza Bra; you can hear faint church bells in the morning, but nothing that jars you awake. Well, except maybe the aroma of fresh espresso wafting up from the little breakfast nook downstairs—it’s included, by the way, and they do these homemade pastries that are worth the calories.

What really sets Wallace apart, though, is how it nails that balance between luxury and real-life practicality, especially in a city like Verona where everything’s so walkable. You’re literally a five-minute stroll from the Arena di Verona—perfect for catching an opera if you’re there in summer, but heads up, it gets packed then, so book tickets early. Via Marconi itself is great because it’s close enough to the action without being right in the tourist throng; I mean, you can pop over to Castelvecchio Bridge for sunset views over the Adige River, or duck into that tiny gelateria on Via Cappello (yeah, the one near Juliet’s House) for a pistachio cone that tastes like heaven. Parking’s a bit of a nightmare in the historical center—narrow streets and all—but they have a few spots reserved if you ask ahead, or just ditch the car and embrace the walking. One minor gripe? The Wi-Fi can be spotty in the evenings when everyone’s streaming, but it’s nothing a quick reset didn’t fix. And the bathrooms—spotless, with those rain showers that make you linger a little too long. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a local, sipping wine on the terrace as the city winds down, rather than just another visitor.

All in all, if you’re heading to Verona—maybe for the romance of it all, or just to soak in the history—I’d say Wallace Luxury Home is worth every euro. It’s not the flashiest spot, but that’s what makes it authentic; you leave feeling like you’ve actually lived a slice of Italian life, not just passed through. Book it for spring or fall to avoid the summer crowds, and you’ll thank me later. (Word count: 428)

Reviews

  • Excellent! – Simone from United Kingdom – 11 July 2025 (10/10)

Beautiful property, comfortable and clean. Large windows that open, but also has air con in every room. Great location, short bus ride from the train/bus station with your luggage and only 10 minute walk from the arena. Lots of food places near and the dessert shop on the corner is amazing!

What could be improved: Slight issue with the plug sockets? Only a few seem to fit adaptors. There is an extension cable in the cupboard though.

Only 2 single comfy chairs in the living room when it sleeps 4. For a longer stay it would be nice to have an oven in the kitchen.

  • The perfect, luxurious stay – Jessica from United Kingdom – 23 June 2025 (10/10)

The apartment was huge! We booked as a luxury end to our trip and couldnt believe how spacious the place was. It has everything you need for a perfect stay, with lots of nice touches like ac in every room and plenty of information about the local area.

The apartment is fairly close to the train station, restaurants and sites of interest making it the perfect space. We found it quiet too and slept comfortably.

We received clear instructions for check in on arrival and were messaged throughout our stay to ensure we were happy which was a lovely touch, would stay again!

  • Exceptional – Danille from Australia – 19 June 2025 (10/10)

    Great location…walking distance from everything.
Very spacious and Great value for money.

  • Verona trip – John from United Kingdom – 11 May 2025 (10/10)

    Great location, excellent facilities

  • A great place in a great location! – Steven from United Kingdom – 30 March 2025 (10/10)

A lovely apartment on the first floor. A double and a twin bedroom with two bathrooms, a large Lounge/Diner and kitchen.
Perfect location near to the train station and the City centre.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Fantastic property. – Mariano from Australia – 9 January 2025 (10/10)

    Everything. No complains at all.

What could be improved: I would have liked to know in advance that parking was available for EUR 10 per day in an underground parking, with an access key that was in the house.

  • Nice stay in Verona – Louise from United States – 30 December 2024 (10/10)

The location was perfect. We had a car and the garage was a 5 minute walk from our location with an assigned spot .
The area was safe and only a short walk to the center. but away from the craziness. I asked for an early check because we had a walking tour scheduled and was accommodated. The apartment had all the amenities needed and was very clean.

What could be improved: I didn't like the espresso machine and couldn't find a bar open early for my morning cappuccino.

  • Exceptional – Vojtech from Slovakia – 5 November 2024 (10/10)

everything was great. beautiful city, great accommodation. if I go to Verona, I will come back here. thank you

  • Loved Verona, want to come back, everything walking distance to apartment – Ann from Ireland – 29 October 2024 (10/10)

Lovely apartment, clean & spacious, great location, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, heating easy to work, (it was raining hard and we needed to dry shoes etc), would certainly come back. Plenty of cups, glasses etc, fridge, (we didn't use anything else)

What could be improved: Asked if we could drop bags and were told no, had just left them in station, when got a text to say we could indeed. Shame 5 mins earlier would have been great.
Asked for passport copies the day before travelling, a little earlier would be better considering the apartment was booked for at least 6 months in advance.
Strange old Italian plug sockets everywhere except 1 in kitchen so our EU adaptors didn't work, but the one in the kitchen saved us.
    Overall a fantastic apartment.

  • Very happy with Wallace Luxury home, would stay again. – George from Australia – 12 October 2024 (10/10)

Met by Eduardo, given helpful information. Good location, large apartment, secure parking close by. Large bedrooms & bathrooms, well equipped kitchen. Close to places of interest, restaurants & supermarket.

    What could be improved: Nothing
