The moment you walk in, there’s this warmth that feels genuinely Italian rather than put-on touristy. The staff remembers your name after day one, which sounds small but honestly makes such a difference when you’re dealing with jet lag or trying to figure out where to grab decent coffee at 7 AM. I’ve stayed at places twice the price where that wasn’t the case. The Wi-Fi works consistently too, which matters if you’re trying to stay connected or upload photos without wanting to throw your phone across the room.

It’s the kind of place where you can tell the owners actually give a damn about their guests’ experience. Like, they’ll remember you mentioned wanting to find a good local restaurant and slip you a handwritten note with directions to some family-run place that’s not in any guidebook. The whole operation feels personal in a way that’s become pretty rare. And with a 9.2 rating, I’m clearly not the only one who feels this way – that score doesn’t happen by accident, especially for a 3-star property where expectations are usually pretty modest.

Look, it’s not going to wow you with marble lobbies or infinity pools or whatever, but if you want a place that feels like home while you’re exploring somewhere new, Zia Anna delivers. It’s one of those discoveries that makes you feel slightly protective – you almost don’t want to tell too many people about it because you want it to stay exactly as genuine as it is now.

  Jeg manglede at kunne komme ud på en altan eller lignende, men til prisen var det helt forventeligt at der ikke var den mulighed. Stor hjælp fra letforståelig vært mht. spørgsmål om hvordan vi nemmest kunne besøge andre byer på vores tur igennem Norditalien.
