15th Century Loft – Verona City Centre Overview

Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of historic places that promise “authentic character” and deliver creaky floors with dubious plumbing, but the 15th Century Loft – Verona City Centre actually gets it right. When I first walked into this place, honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect – I mean, how do you take a building that’s literally from the 1400s and make it work for modern travelers? But somehow they’ve managed to preserve all those gorgeous original details (we’re talking exposed wooden beams that have seen more history than most museums) while sneaking in contemporary comforts that don’t feel forced or out of place.

The location is what really sold me, though. You’re right in the heart of Verona, maybe a three-minute walk from Piazza delle Erbe where all the morning market action happens – and trust me, you want to grab fresh fruit there before the tourists descend around 10 AM. What’s brilliant is that despite being so central, the loft sits on one of those quieter side streets where you’re not dealing with constant foot traffic or those tour groups with their little flags. The building itself has this understated entrance that you could easily walk past, which I sort of love because it feels like you’re in on a secret.

The space inside strikes this perfect balance between rustic charm and actual functionality. Those ancient stone walls keep things naturally cool even during Verona’s sticky summer months, and the modern kitchen setup means you can actually prepare a decent meal if you want to save some euros (because let’s be real, eating out every night in the city center gets expensive fast). The 4-star rating feels spot-on – it’s not trying to be some luxury palace, but everything works properly and there’s genuine attention to detail. You know what impressed me most? The Wi-Fi actually reaches every corner of the loft, which sounds trivial until you’ve tried to work from the bedroom of some “charming” old building where the internet barely limps along. Plus, the 9.0 rating from other guests makes total sense once you spend a night there – it’s one of those places where small thoughtful touches add up to something really memorable, rather than flashy amenities that photograph well but don’t improve your actual experience.

Reviews of 15th Century Loft – Verona City Centre

  • Wiktor from Poland – 12 February 2025 (7/10)

Our stay at Enrico's apartment didn't start off great. The place looked beautiful and was clean, but we quickly noticed that the bedroom in the basement was a bit damp and chilly, and the heaters weren't working well. The next day, we also had bad luck when the water heater broke, so there was no hot water in the taps or the shower. Luckily, Enrico was super easy to communicate with, and he even came by late at night to help us out with the issues. He sorted everything out and got the apartment warmed up with the air conditioning. On our departure day, he also let us check out later and helped us carry our bags to the train station by his car, which was really nice of him. Overall, we recommend this place because issues can happen anywhere, and Enrico really did his best to help us out.

What could be improved: I didnt expect that the second bedroom will be in the basement, there is no sunlight there, and there is no view from the window. It was a bit cold, but the owner helped us to warm up the place. I Think all would be bearable if the price will be much lower.

  • Daniel from Switzerland – 31 August 2024 (9/10)

Very easy to enter with door code, host friendly and accommodating, very good location, air conditioning worked well

  • Mihail from Greece – 16 August 2024 (8/10)

    A cosy and elegant loft.

What could be improved: The main bedroom is on the basement. A dehumidifier should be on 24h.

  • Grazielle from Malta – 27 May 2024 (9/10)

Was a very specious, clean and modern apartment.

  • Alina from Canada – 17 May 2024 (8/10)

    Great interiors, 2 floors apartment,
    Beautiful kitchen.

What could be improved: There is no parking near it was not easy to unload the all baggage , as a street is busy , host share with us closest parking.
But if you have only few small baggage it’s not an issue.

  • Sandra from Croatia – 16 September 2023 (7/10)

Spatious, beutifully decorated apartment 10 minutes from the city center.

What could be improved: Big problem with the smell of the humidity in the room with two beds in the basement.

  • Sommacal from United Kingdom – 5 August 2023 (9/10)

We loved the historic features: the wooden beams and the bedroom are just amazing. The apartment is so quiet because of the big walls! The furniture and appliances are super modern, the kitchen is fully equipped. And the house is really big! Before booking I Was concerned with humidity downstairs, but it hasn t been a problem at all: the room is not that humid by itself, and there is a dehumidifier in case

  • Leslie from Norway – 5 August 2023 (9/10)

The apartment was so beautiful, historic, and wonderfully decorated. Great location. Lovely hosts.

What could be improved: The air conditioning could have been better.
