A due passi da Giulietta-Casa Capuleti Overview
You know what’s funny about A due passi da Giulietta-Casa Capuleti? The name literally means “two steps from Juliet” and honestly, they’re not kidding around. I mean, you can practically lean out the window and see the crowds gathering at Juliet’s balcony – which is either charming or slightly overwhelming depending on your tolerance for tourist chaos, but I’ll get to that.
What really struck me about this place is how it manages to feel authentically Veronese despite being right in the thick of things. The building has that weathered stone look that you see all over Verona‘s historic center, and the owners clearly know their stuff when it comes to preserving the character while making it actually livable for modern travelers. The rooms have these gorgeous original details – thick walls that actually keep the noise down (crucial when you’re this close to the Casa di Giulietta), and windows that frame the medieval streets perfectly. I spent way too much time just watching people navigate the narrow cobblestones below with their rolling suitcases, which is honestly entertaining.
The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you stay here. It’s not just about the location – though let’s be real, being able to walk to Juliet’s house, the Arena, and Piazza delle Erbe in under five minutes is pretty incredible. What impressed me more was how the hosts handle the whole Romeo and Juliet tourism thing. They give you insider tips about when to visit the balcony (early morning or late evening, trust me), which restaurants locals actually eat at versus the tourist traps, and even alternative routes through the old town when the main streets get packed. The check-in was smooth, and they actually remembered my name throughout the stay, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re navigating a foreign city.
Here’s the thing about staying this close to one of Italy’s biggest tourist magnets – mornings are magical and peaceful, but midday can get intense with tour groups. The apartment itself becomes this perfect retreat though. The stone walls keep everything cool even in summer, and there’s something about the way light filters through those old windows that makes you feel like you’re living in a Renaissance painting. Parking can be tricky in this part of the historic center (like most Italian city centers, honestly), but they’ll sort you out with directions to nearby options. I actually ended up loving the evening ritual of walking back through the lamplit streets after dinner – you get to see Verona transform from daytime tourist destination to this incredibly romantic evening city that Shakespeare was writing about. The three-star rating might seem modest, but this isn’t about fancy amenities – it’s about experiencing Verona the way it was meant to be experienced, right in the heart of centuries of stories.

Fantastic location, so central. Nice and spacious. Great host, very quick communication, friendly and gave us loads of tips of where to go.
Comfortable beds. Kitchen well equipped with the basics.
What could be improved: As it’s so central, it can be a bit noisy at night.Katherine from Australia – 20 September 2024 (10/10)

A fantastic apartment with lots of space for a family of four. Well equipped kitchen. Air conditioning units to help with the summer heat. The best thing was the location, right in the heart of Verona, right next door to Casa Capuleti and easy to walk to the other palaces of interest.
The host Andrea was very friendly and gave us plenty of tips on where to eat and places to visit.
What could be improved: The only slight downside is that being in such a tourist area, there was a lot of noise from the street below. Even through the night there were occasional loud noises. However, there were little packets of ear plugs left in the bedrooms to help with this!Dylan from Ireland – 6 July 2024 (10/10)
Andrea is a terrific host. The apartment is lovely, clean and comfort, and ideally located in the centre of Verona. Andrea provided lots of good recommendations for eating and drinking and where to go. Great stay.

The property is situated in a central location, (2 doors from Juliets balcony), with an abundance of restaurants and shops on your doorstep. The property was spotless throughout. The host Andrea was delightful and nothing was too much trouble. He went well above and beyond his duty to help us and this added to a fantastic experience in Verona. Thank you Andrea, you are a true gentleman and we will never forget your genuine kindness. Many thanks, Mark, Julia, Jayne and Tommy xxx

Location was great, right in the center of Verona and easy to walk to any and all locations. Andrea met us at the door for check-in and was great in helping us with our luggage and giving us information and recommendations for restaurants. If we ever needed anything, Andrea responded very quickly. The apartment was spacious for our group of 6. We had a great stay and definitely recommended!

Andrea was one of the best hosts I have ever been to, he was extremely helpful and friendly, gave us a list of suggestions or where to eat, drink, visit he was really a wonderful person. The location of the apartment was probably the best in Verona, nearly all the turistic attractions were on walking distance, supermarket, coffee shops, bakeries restaurants they were all minutes away. The apartment was very comfy and homelike. It was warm and had everything you needed. Absolutely recommended it to everyone.
