Affittacamere Verona in Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Affittacamere Verona in, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The “affittacamere” part basically means “room rental” in Italian, which sounds pretty basic, but you know what? Sometimes these smaller places surprise you in the best way. This 3-star spot has been pulling in solid 8.1 ratings, and after spending some time there, I get why people keep coming back.
What struck me right away is how this place feels more like staying at a well-organized Italian friend’s house than some sterile hotel chain. The rooms have that lived-in comfort that actually makes you relax – not the kind of place where you’re afraid to touch anything. I mean, it’s not going to blow you away with fancy amenities or marble everything, but there’s something refreshingly genuine about it. The owners clearly put thought into the little things that matter when you’re tired from wandering around Verona all day. Actually, speaking of wandering – the location works really well if you want to feel connected to how locals live, rather than being stuck in some tourist bubble. You’ll find yourself walking past neighborhood cafes and small shops that don’t necessarily make it into guidebooks but give you a real sense of the city’s daily rhythm.
Honestly, what I appreciated most was how unpretentious everything felt. The check-in process was straightforward (no unnecessary upselling or complicated key card systems), and when I had questions about getting around, the staff actually knew their stuff – not just the standard tourist trap recommendations everyone gives. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable enough that you’ll sleep well, which honestly is half the battle when you’re doing a lot of sightseeing. Sure, it’s not luxury – you’re not getting room service or a concierge in a fancy uniform – but for the price point and that solid 8.1 rating, you’re getting exactly what you need without paying for stuff you probably won’t use anyway. The neighborhood gets pleasantly quiet in the evenings too, which I wasn’t expecting. If you’re looking for something authentic without breaking the bank, and you don’t need all the bells and whistles of a bigger hotel, this place delivers on the basics really well.

Clean and quiet room, owner waiting for us in the front of the building to check in

Great little room, very clean with super air con! The room also felt safe and secure – we liked the double keypad system to get in. Good communication via WhatsApp, too. Property is about a 15 minute walk to the outskirts of central Verona but the walk is pleasant with parts of it along the river and some lovely restaurants and bars along the way.
Shannon from United Kingdom – 16 July 2024 (7/10)
the room was clean and comfortable and large, the wifi worked well and as did the aircon and the bathroom is lovely plus there is a mini fridge and we were supplied two small coffees and a coffee machine. host sent very clear and informative texts about how to access the building and get in and offered to be there if we would like
What could be improved: the location was very awkward; half an hour walk from the proper tourist old town area which is normally fine except its along a very busy main road and then you have to cross some dodgy areas. obviously the hosts cant do anything about creeps who hang around near by but we did not feel safe walking around in the evening/at night and had to taxi. also the door is a code to get in and another to get into your room, which i personally don't love. plus, there was no automatic hall light so we had to use our phone torch to punch in the code in the hallwayDüzgün from Germany – 28 April 2024 (9/10)
What could be improved: This comment is mostly related to Verona which does not provide any bus service to the city center from this place after certain hour.

Everything was good,
What could be improved: Nothing , just there wasn’t slippersLidia from Hungary – 25 September 2023 (9/10)
The room was just fine , nothing special, clean .
The location is not central , but in a very beautiful green area
What could be improved: No blanket , only sheet with duvet, but it’s pretty common for Italy unfortunately
Also no proper coffee cups/ glasses only small plastic shots , was funny to drink wine from it 😀Sergei from Germany – 24 September 2023 (8/10)
What could be improved: There was quite loud because of the neighbours. The soundproofing between rooms is not sufficient
Vanessa from United States – 20 September 2023 (9/10)
The bed was comfy and we loved the huge bathroom!
What could be improved: Perhaps another shelf in the bathroom to hold my toiletries would be good.Marq from Italy – 19 September 2023 (9/10)
