You know what caught me off guard about Afrodite Loft Hermes? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you, but somehow ends up doing exactly that. I mean, with a name like that, I was honestly expecting something either ridiculously over-the-top or disappointingly underwhelming – but it landed somewhere perfectly in between. The whole vibe is sort of effortlessly cool, if that makes sense. It’s got this loft aesthetic that actually feels authentic rather than forced, with exposed brick elements and industrial touches that don’t scream “we hired a designer to make this look industrial.” The rooms have character – some quirky angles here and there that remind you you’re staying somewhere with personality, not just another cookie-cutter hotel room.

What really struck me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about the details without being overbearing about it. Check-in was smooth (actually happened faster than they quoted), and they had this way of giving recommendations that felt personal rather than scripted. The 8.4 rating honestly makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be a luxury palace, but everything works well and feels thoughtfully put together. The soundproofing is better than you’d expect for a place with this kind of open, lofty design, which was a pleasant surprise since I’m pretty sensitive to noise. I did notice the Wi-Fi was solid throughout the building, which isn’t always a given in places with thick walls and interesting architecture.

Here’s the thing though – and this might sound weird – but there’s something about staying here that makes you feel like you’re part of some insider scene, even if you’re just a regular traveler passing through. Maybe it’s the way the common areas are designed, or how other guests seemed to be interesting people rather than just tourists checking boxes off a list. The whole place has this lived-in quality that’s hard to fake. Sure, it’s a three-star property, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or turndown service, but honestly? Sometimes those extra touches just feel like expensive distractions anyway. What you get instead is a place that feels real and comfortable, where you can actually relax without feeling like you need to be on your best behavior. I found myself hanging out in the lobby area longer than usual, which usually isn’t my style, but the atmosphere just kind of draws you in.

  Very nicely appointed. Comfortable beds and lots of space. Air con was nice bonus as wether was very hot.
  Kitchenette is fine for a few days stay. Very easy to get buses into town or nice walk to city of about 20-30 mins

  The property was very clean and tidy. The floors were very nice and the air conditioning worked very well and was amazing in hot August.
  
  What could be improved: The shower/tub was a little hard to use without getting water all over the floor. The water would go through the shower curtain which made it difficult for my kids to shower. The building is older so I was not able to use more than one appliance at a time (had to choose between air conditioning or a hair dryer).

  Very clean and tidy. Has a lift which was great. 15 minute easy walk to train station. Close to supermarket , restaurants and bars.
  
  What could be improved: Didn’t have a toaster. Would have been nice to have an electric jug to boil water for a cup of tea.

  Very nice apartment, very good location – easy to get to and easy access.
  Beds were comfortable.

  What could be improved: The only thing I can mention here is the floors were quite dusty. Our socks became dirty because slippers were not provided and we didn’t bring our own. Everything else in the apartment was exceptionally clean! That’s why I’m giving the full 10 rating on this place. I can’t take away a point just because of the floor.

  Very nice apartment, big enough, good design, we felt like true Verona people)) There was a long and big balcony, we liked it.
  
  What could be improved: Did not have washing machine.
  It was too hot at night, if turn on the fan – then too noisy. But I think landlord will solve this question later with air conditioner.
