Agriturismo Corte Moranda Overview
You know what struck me first about Agriturismo Corte Moranda? The way the morning light hits those old stone walls – there’s something almost magical about it, honestly. This isn’t your typical hotel experience, and I mean that in the best possible way. It’s one of those working farm stays that actually feels authentic, not like some sanitized version designed for tourists who’ve never seen a chicken before.
The family running this place has been here for generations, and you can tell they genuinely care about sharing their corner of the Veneto region with visitors. The rooms are simple but charming – think exposed wooden beams, terracotta floors that stay cool even in summer, and windows that frame views of vineyards and vegetable gardens. Don’t expect fancy amenities (this is a 3-star place after all), but what you get is so much better – actual character. The beds are comfortable enough, though the shower pressure can be a bit temperamental in the mornings when everyone’s getting ready at the same time.
What really sets Corte Moranda apart is the food situation. They serve dinner family-style using ingredients grown right there on the property, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s some of the best home cooking I’ve had in northern Italy. The signora makes this incredible risotto with whatever vegetables are in season, and their wine – well, let’s just say you’ll want to buy a few bottles to take home. Breakfast is equally impressive, with fresh eggs from their hens, homemade bread, and jam that tastes like summer in a jar. Just a heads up though – they don’t serve meals every single night, so check when you book.
The location works really well if you’re exploring the smaller towns and countryside rather than rushing between major cities. You’ll need a car to get around comfortably, but honestly that’s part of the charm – winding through tiny villages and stopping at local markets along the way. Parking isn’t an issue here (there’s plenty of space in their courtyard), and the hosts are incredibly helpful with directions and recommendations. They speak decent English, though bringing a phrase book or translation app doesn’t hurt.
I’ll be straight with you – this place isn’t for everyone. If you need a pool, spa services, or 24-hour room service, look elsewhere. But if you want to experience genuine Italian hospitality and don’t mind roosters as your alarm clock, Corte Moranda delivers something really special. The 9.2 rating makes perfect sense once you understand what they’re going for. It’s that rare place where you actually feel like a welcomed guest rather than just another booking, and honestly, that’s worth more than all the fancy amenities in the world.
Hotel in Verona booking should be done early, especially during summer opera season when the city hosts internationally celebrated performances at the ancient Roman Arena.

We had the Appartement with our two Huskys. It was large, cosy and had everything we needed for a great and relaxing vacation. The location in the vineyard and the whole complex is stunningly beautiful. Our Hosts were very friendly and fulfilled our every wishes. The Agriturismo is central to every major city you wish to visit in the region.
After a week there I feel very relaxed and recovered. Thank you so much for this amazing time Camilla and Selene!
What could be improved: Nothing to dislike!Linda from Italy – 2 June 2024 (9/10)
Staff gentile e molto disponibile.
Consiglio l'esperienza!
What could be improved: Se devo trovare un punto di miglioramento potrebbe essere la colazione, che consente meno scelta rispetto ad altri.Riccardo from Italy – 2 May 2024 (10/10)
What could be improved: Nulla, è stato tutto all'altezza delle aspettative. Se proprio dovessi dare un suggerimento, aggiungerei qualche prodotto salato per colazione, che comunque è stata per noi eccellente, ottima la qualità dei prodotti.Bastiaan from Netherlands – 16 August 2023 (10/10)

We really enjoyed our stay! We had a warm welcome by the host and she even made a reservation for dinner. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. We also booked breakfast, which was fresh and very nice. When in Verona again, we will definitely come back again. Thank you!

Selene was the perfect host. She even went to the trouble listing good restaurants and places of interest to visit in the area, which really made our experience extra special! The stone building is newly renovated, totally spotless and beautifully decorated in a traditional style. At the buffet breakfast in the garden there was a wide choice of local and homemade produce. Our room was sympathetically restored with wooden beams and a large comfy bed. The modern bathroom had a shower with good water pressure. The setting in the vineyard is stunning, with the location being just a 5-10 minute drive from Verona. Sadly we didn't have time to do a tour of the vineyard, but we tasted their wine and it is excellent!
What could be improved: The only negative is that we could only stay two nights!Malcolm from Malta – 9 May 2022 (10/10)
Superb hospitality and great recommendations.
Capurso produces some fine wines in the Valpolicella region. Must try their signature wine, Diavolo Rosso
Thanks Camilla
